Yeah, Damon killed Jeremy because his feelings were hurt. I love Damon despite all the horrible things he's done. I love Stefan despite all the horrible things he's done. I don't want either of their pasts whitewashed to serve a plot.

My issue is I think the entire thing is more interesting if they're both framed as "bad" guys. Elena is in love with two murderers, and is herself technically a murderer. There's a lot to explore there without having to demonize or lionize anyone.
