My guess: Jason is going to "save" him from these people/killing Jessica and that's what will make them become friends again.

I would like to believe that, but this whole story has been so incredibly tone deaf I don't know what we're supposed to make of him saying that. But I have a feeling @avclub-955e9aeb1bba63961ece64ab8d0e6e41:disqus is right about him being a bad guy.

I had it in there and decided to just ignore it. That's as much consideration as the writers are giving this storyline anyway.

It's kind of great that the truth is a bit muddled. Everyone's hands are dirty here.

Ha! There's a monarchy-like hierarchy in the books (Queen Sophie-Anne was in them) but I can't recall them being led by an Authority group. Anyone else remember better?

I see where you're coming from, but I think my frustration is that the show has everything it needs to knock a story like this out of the park: setting, history, characters, actors. And yet the writing fails them every time. The first two seasons were pretty good because they had one main story that drove everything…

I would recognize these things if I thought the show was actually making these connections, but it doesn't feel like they are. Sure, it might get to that in one big confrontation episode at the end of the season (and I bet that episode will be exciting) but right now, it's just people talking at each other about…

I said that she was surprisingly part of the best bits of the episode! I've really enjoyed her since she started talking again.

That's a good nitpick. Wouldn't want to sully Alaric's good name by confusing him with Alcide.

Has to be, right?
