I guess I can see that, especially based on that viewing selection. And hey, I'm not gonna knock you for your opinions. But there are definitely other more diverse comedic actors coming through those same channels.

@avclub-ad45e11f2e88b8963920c79cd1d8755e:disqus my only problem with that is that Oswalt and Lynch have both done plenty outside of what I think people would consider their "one character".

The Shakespeare thing has even become a cliche for us: British actor, of course they've done Hamlet or Lady M!

Maybe we should ship over some of good writers we've got, cause lord knows, even if you're looking at quality, we've got lots of them. Consider it a little restitution.

This was a huge factor I was hoping someone would point out. Although I do think America is having a resurgence of this idea in the comedy world. A lot more of our gifted comedic actors are spending more time honing their craft in improv troupes and standup circuits than studying acting, then landing comic parts

Hey, inclusion is what it's all about.

The thing about this show is that I'm sure they know that the viewership is pretty much equal parts people who invested in the show and its mythology and people who watch it for the attractive men doing heroic things, and they try to please both crowds.

I have a feeling every week People and Us have a two-page spread just dedicated to the clothes Mindy and Jess from New Girl wear.

Wait I thought she just had a broken leg or something, not like, can't use her legs at all.

As a champion of the fart, I'll admit that cake/pie-in-the-face is pretty much always a winner, even here.

You'll be happy to know that next week is all about trial number two.

Thought this had a very first-few-seasons vibe, and Krissy's overacting gets some chuckles from me. All-in-all, an inoffensive episode.

That tag was a winner in a episode severely lacking in Luke. Also, I'm always game any time Alex and Haley get a story together.

Oh. Whatever. I mean no disrespect to you, only to the show.

re: Danny, my hope is that, in a Resident Evil-esque twist, all of these scenarios are different tests for a multitude of Danny clones, while his creators, Mindy and Morgan, who are actually mad geniuses, observe the different reactions tweaks to Danny's personality elicit. Their goal? To create the perfect

My brother keeps begging me to watch this show, and while his pleas are earnest (he's very susceptible to the lure of terrible procedurals and dramas), now that I've learned that this show has become a hot mess of the highest degree, I'm totally on board.

That fart was the best part of the episode, hands down.

This episode opened with such promise (that fart, oh that glorious fart!), and I'll even say the first part of the main episode wasn't terrible, but once Ellie Kemper showed back up for no discernible reason (didn't her character live in Texas or some other sort of fuckery?), I watched what little goodness this

There it is. Perfect wording for what I was feeling.

I feel weird for liking this as much as I did. None of the things everyone is saying ruined the episode particularly bothered me, I thought the Elvis stuff was uncomfortable enough to be funny, and I was pretty content the whole time. By no means a New Girl essential but still great.
