I'm absolutely with Todd. I'm rooting for the show, and I enjoy spending time with these characters, but I just plain didn't laugh.

I'm repeating myself from upthread, but I want to support you on this. Aside of a little surreptitious eye-rolling, Britta was very supportive, even helpful. And it's a relief to see the character played straighter for once.
Agreed about Britta - I don't know why Erik thought Britta was a jerk. Also, she got to be a lot more dignified than last week, which is refreshing. The character became too ridiculous last season, and needs to be built back up. It almost made up for having Annie mooning over Jeff again (and Jeff being stuck in a…
"Muddy Waters fans are most likely to have been arrested."
Apparently the Zappa song "Stevie's Spanking" failed to entice anybody.
And Metric at #4 also makes sense. But Motorhead?
Fans of Chopin and Beethoven are among those most likely to kiss on a first date?
For the same reason that they end every sentence with an exclamation point!

I kind of felt that way too, at first, but I think there was a reason they went so cartoony - it made the 'Greendale isn't real' theory seem more plausible by comparison. Or am I overthinking it?
That device is so old that Mad spoofed it way back when it was still a comic book. "Who cares if it don't work?"
Hooray for respectful disagreements! There's a lot of astute comments in this thread, and they helped me appreciate the episode a good deal more on the second pass. I wanted Britta to be stronger, but that wouldn't really be true to the character. Plus, the addiction angle was funny, and I like what it brought out…
"I agree with all of your points except "We don't even get to find out
the nice thing Troy wrote about Britta." It's much better that we didn't
because what's the point?"
I guess I'm that guy this week - I think this was the weakest episode of the series by far. It's almost as if the triumph of last week's episode left everyone exhausted.
"So what deviant act did Britta initiate on Subway…the Tokyo Sandblaster?"
Never mind the Munsters - NBC should get Evan Dorkin to adapt The Murder Family.
"And so far I like this season a lot (much to my surprise), probably the best House since the game show season. As long as the old team is nowhere to be seen, I'll tag along."
Agreed. I don't care if the formula is exhausted or if the writers are tripping over themselves to restore the old status quo - l'm enjoying…
I liked this a whole lot more than I expected to, but in part it's just because the supporting cast was mercifully absent. Does anyone else dread having them back?
