The casting in Starship Troopers is so subversive that a lot of people still don't get it. Michael Ironsides really is the lodestone of the picture, but on a superficial level, it's 90210 in space.

Saw the U.S. ending in the theater or "theatre" and didn't think it was all that happy. The heroine is alive but hallucinating and probably irretrievably insane. Lisa Lampanelli must be right about EVERYTHING!

Nightmare on Elm Street Collection
I picked up two DVD four-packs of the series for $14 each just a couple of weeks ago. I like the period cheese in each, the weak and repetitive characterization, the lamebrained apocalyptic plot of Freddy's Dead, the gay panic of Part 2, Freddy playing dress up…The original

Beerfest's depiction of drinking is like science fiction. Beerfest is unto alcoholics as Stone Cold is bikers.

Everybody's qualified.

Baker of course.

The Lord loves a Working Man.

Asia Carrera?

When the Apprentice Boys of Philadelphia were crushed by the mechanations of premature Taylorism.
