Basic cable has gotten even worse about this, especially FX and Comedy Central. Last week I was planning to tivo several shows on Wednesday night. I looked at the listings, and every show on both channels started at something like 9:03, 9:32,  or 10:01. Utterly ridiculous.

Eh, no big deal. Mike Hale never seems to like anything anymore. I'd be more surprised if he raved about it.

What gets me is that the contract stated that Daft Punk were not to appear anywhere else "in the lead-up to the VMAs" (it's late so I might be misremembering), yet the VMAs are SEVEN WEEKS FROM NOW.

Ah, but Donald Glover isn't Atlanta. He's Stone Mountain. *shudder*

If memory serves, Moffat and Coyle pretty much burned all bridges when Coyle left Coupling. (Pity, as I'd love to see his curls in the role.)

I kinda want the news to leak early, just to see Moffat absolutely lose his shit.

Totally forgot about that. Guess we should watch Craig's show tonight — if he's in an exceptionally giddy mood, we'll know that it's Capaldi.

Oooh.  And she did kinda sorta shapeshift into Eleven back in "The Eleventh Hour".  (BTW, anyone else see the news that Fox will remake "Broadchurch"? Yikes.)

Holy shit — the UK has a quiz show titled after the epigraph of one of E.M. Forster's best (but less popular) novels?

No, it doesn't. The music for "The Americans" was nominated, but the graphics were not. IMO, that's one of the worst snubs of this year's Emmys. Yes, the music's great, but the overall graphics design (especially for how it matches up to the music) makes those opening credits MAGNIFICENT.

Oh, I'm totally with you on being so damned tired of shows with "a troubled male lead with a wife whose character is underdeveloped and is ancillary to the main plot." It's one of the reasons why, as much as I'd like to, I can't get into Breaking Bad (but yes, I recognize and appreciate its greatness.)

"Monday June" was great, but I laughed louder than I had in ages when Chloe started singing the psycopath camp theme song.

Obligatory "NOT GREAT, BOB!"

I'm also thinking that Coto pressured Parker into getting an abortion, hence her hedging "Oh, turns out I wasn't pregnant after all!" When all this inevitably hits the fan, maybe the SaB writers think that the abortion hypocrisy will ameliorate some of the shit flung at Daphne for blackmailing Coto.

And please do it gently with a chainsaw.

Even though it probably isn't allowed per Emmy rules, he should tack on "We're a Twizzlers family" to the video.

My biggest shock is that the music for The Americans' title sequence got nominated, but the video itself did not. Huh!? The opening credits are the best damn thing about the show, which was already pretty great to begin with.

I'm pouring one out for The Middleman. *sniff*

Thank you for pointing out the egregiousness of ID4's Henry V thievery. Look, I loooooooove me a good St. Crispin's Day knockoff, but that one is exceptionally bad.

From one teacher to another (HS English, previously MS Language Arts): WOO FUCKING HOO!
