I can't quite imagine taking a picture of myself kissing someone. That wouldn't feel quite right.

You believe that sociopaths are necessary for the survival of the human race?

That's interesting because I don't remember it being "okay" at all.

Sorry, ah, okay.

I feel like you have to do something more than once to be considered an expert in it. So far, I think OSC has written one good book.

Yes. I struggle to think of a more bizarre "resolution" to a story I've seen or read in any genre.

Also the unsubtle anti-abortion stuff is pretty hilarious. I think they spent like two books saving Bean's 20-or-so implanted embryos so he could have a giant Mormon outer space family as God intended.

You give me hope for the future, friend. Thanks.

I haven't read anything by him since age 13, I think (ten years ago), but as I recall, he spends a ton of time making semi-smart characters make semi-smart musings with each other in an identical, obviously-really-just-the-author's voice in scenes that don't otherwise advance the story in any way.

I read that sentence over and over because I kept missing the homophobia/homosexuality switch and didn't get it. It was worth it.

I wonder how many people will watch it just to rebel now, like the Chik-Fil-A people (except funnier, because that was just an excuse for obese fans of shitty fast food to continue eating shitty fast food and in this case they would be forced to watch a decades-old science fiction story about naked children).

As a non-Mormon from a strict Mormon family descended from pioneer stock, and a person living in the Mormon part of Utah*, I am not mad at you for saying that.

The Shadow series is basically his equivalent of the Star Wars prequels in that he just grabbed a bunch of stuff that younger readers liked, amped them up to 11, and squeezed them all together without any meaningful content.

I thought Xenocide was underrated. Well, the part about the planet/society centered around "the OC Disorder," I mean. Certain passages are especially interesting when you realize that they were written by a practicing Mormon.

Your comment had 3 likes, I clicked "LIKE," and it changed to 15.

I always figured Ender's Game would never be filmed because, as I recall, the kids are naked in most of it, but I guess they found a way around that.

When I was in middle school I was really into that Ender shit, and I tried to register "xenocide" or xenocide-something as an e-mail address on Gmail (which, at the time, was called "Hotmail"), but apparently it's an offensive/banned word.

It's funny because @avclub-808e22af6c33eea22608f30cef458844:disqus has depression

but M. Ward doesn't wear wool tights and mini skirts so we don't really care about him

direct or inverse?
