And the USA gov has rushed to recognise the new Maldives leaders. How (not) surprising.

Yeah, it was called Grebo. What an odd word. Included Ned's Atomic Dustbin and Gaye Bykers on Acid. I was 16-18 at the time of that scene and we often called it 'indie' because it didn't seem like Rock at the time but they were gigging bands etc.

In a direct reading of her main points, she is completely right. But taken in the context of her show, her screen persona and the possibility of it being a comment on her own situation I see why people may disregard that.

Yeah the webcam monologue where he was all beaten up was full of subtle changes in the voice and little looks off etc. It seemed well out place with the show, but it was way good.

It obviously a bit tamer than the podcast, but a couple of good Walt moments get in.

Would love to see coverage of every ep thanks.

Sorry if I'm repeating a comment.

Ha, me too. I actually said it out loud to myself.

The reviews are pointless reading now. A mix of hating on the show and trying to justify that hate. The denial is now at a point where the reviewer even hinted that he was defending the show.

Nostalgic/old: Battle of the Planets (brought to the UK from Japan for children's TV, animation)

Writers
James Gunn > Millar

It's nonsense. It just says A true story: One day I pretended to be Buddhist because of a Taiyuan pie.

Shrike is right on this one.

This is the second time I'm writing this but it can't be stressed enough. Peckinpah + Steve McQueen = ownage.

I never thought I'd write a comment like this … but …

LOTR books are pretty racist, if we are honest
I had a friend who used to fly off the handle when I pointed out Tolkien's race based pro-Brit Empire worldview.

Random characters and all that
Leonard, you're probably right about characters and scenes that don't move the show, but do we really have to judge it based on the high pressure TV model alone.

Weird review
That had to be one of the harshest B- reviews I read for a while. B- suggests it was good overall with more positives than negs. The write up felt like it was talking about a fail.

One more for best series. The original run of my year of flops was clearly good too, but this one is perfect for me as I was 18 when all this was going on.

Michael Jai White
I just saw this and also the trailer for Blood and Bone, this guy is awesome.
