Repeating, Baldwin
I haven't read all the comments so I might be repeating something here.

Taxi Driver moment
re cringing

CGI teams around the world can only dream of getting the same effect and feeling as Harryhausen's skeletons.

I think he studied Japanese there if memory serves, I'm sure we could find the details online.

Trivia
In 2001 I worked for NOVA in Japan teaching English. I was surprised to see Norton in their training videos.

If you like the kinds of movie that Planet Terror is a tribute to, then Planet Terror is one of the funniest films ever made. The best joke in the movie being the missing reel because before it you don't know why Beihn's police man hates on El Ray or what the history is. I don't have the quotes to hand but I remember

Again?
At least the KS hate on the AV Club site is dressed up a bit here. And yeah, the Jersey Girl review is not revenge. But it still has to be written in terms of AV club staff's special relationship with KS and his movies.

Wild Zero is a total movie experience.

I liked Jennifer's Body and can't understand all the hate either.

Kev
The AV club didn't like something Kev Smith did and include some kind of comment on the man himself or prefacing or however-they're-are-dealing-with-their-irrational-dislike-of-the-guy-shit in the review?

Die Another Day.

That Source article / Die Another Day
That's really interesting, I remember that period of The Source, although I don't have the mag still.

tongue smlz of ass LOL

Ballard entry points
Nice gateway. Love Ballard.

The Brett series is so boring though, as a production. The only thing it manages to really capture from the original is the colonial attitudes. The pilot with John Thaw and the line 'that face', cut to scary native. Unironically, of course.

Dollhouse
Topher meets Bennet. Yeah.

The celeb rule
"New rule: If your family is killed in the Holocaust and your wife is killed by Charles Manson, you are allowed one free rape."

Ballistic: Impervious to reviews
I've seen only eight of those. The worst of those was clearly Basic Instinct Two.

by the way, does that describe a mico-genre itself?

There should more movies made where a team of heroes are on a heist or any kind of 'mission' and then at some point you realise it's doomed and/or suicide … and that the leader is going to grimly go through with it anyway out of stubbornness, denial or a grim resignation to their fate.
