Senor Bagofcrap:
Free societies don't deny citizens their liberties based on their thoughts or words.

Slate is, the commenters are a mix.  Seems like a lot of them go on there just to get annnnnggggggrrrrrrryyyyyyyyy!

Or just make one up!  Remember The Emporer's New Clothes?  Man, that was funny.  And set in Peru.  All you gotta do is pick a place that's not predominantly white, and then tell a story there.  It's not rocket science.

That's a good point.  I guess Le Beef was being facetious, but Aladdin was about a male, not a female.  Also, the reason that Tangled wasn't called Rapunzel is because they wanted to make the male main character equal to the female one (in terms of screentime), so to call it Rapunzel would have undercut that.

If he was born in Mexico, he's Mexican, regardless of his racial makeup.  Just like people born in the US are American and people born in Canada are Canadian.

I don't know, I was into princesses and girly stuff when I was young.  I still love clothes, and I do knitting design, and I like shopping with my friends.  But I also took electrical engineering in school and am now an expert in my field.

It's not pronounced Wah.  That's an anglicization of the actual french pronunciation.  It should start with a kind of rolling R, then a W sound, then the A sound.  More like rrwah.

It's the Americans who screw up back bacon.  Real back bacon is a cut of bacon, from the back instead of the belly.  It's not our fault if you guys just cut ham in a circle and call it back bacon.  But why don't you just call it ham?

I thought she looked awful in the "model" makeup.  Her face was monochrome, like one big blank.  No personality came through, and since that's what I usually like most about her face, it was weird to see it gone.

Yeah, it's the other side of the coin.  It's overused for women (the main emotion they're allowed is touchy-feeliness), and underused for men (wouldn't want them to seem too girly!).  It's sad, on both sides.
