I don't know if I'd consider it sexist, given that it's probably realistic for many women in that position.  It would be interesting if they dove into it a bit, though.  Right now you haven't seen below the surface, you've just seen her work "game face".  Maybe later you'll see her complaining about how horrible it is.

Don't expect too much from pilots.  They have too much to set up to really be funny.  When's the last time you saw a great pilot?  Even Seinfeld was lackluster.  Maybe the only really funny one was the Simpson's Xmas special, but it had the advantage of having run as shorts on the Tracey Ullman show before that.

How can they do a modern retelling when the social conditions that the book comments on no longer exist?  What the fuck?
