@ Cinecraft - Sadly, Vietnam vets didn't get much love or respect back then, because the war was so unpopular.

Ken clearly demonstrated his vested interest in having Bob offer continuity to the Chevy account. Ken needs the account to perform well so no one will blame him for getting out of the line of fire.

On "The Sopranos", eggs meant danger. Wonder if Sylvia's preggers?

Marie Calvet: Cherie, you can't go by ze accent.

@Terinitup - RE: "I was expecting one side of his face to be basically gone before he turned around."

Drunk Duck besting drunk Don. Don cries, "Uncle".

Ken may not be given a choice. He can't golf one-eyed, and he's not pretty any more.  Remember the attitude toward MacKenzie (who lost his foot to the tractor)?

So many scenes associate Sally's being treated as an adult with a huge ("the city's so dirty" sort of) downside:
…Betty tells Sally she's a "big girl" now, gives her riding boots, and then tells her Betty and Don are separated and Betty doesn't know when Don will return (but everything will be OK)
…Sally gets her period

I thought Peggy's darkened hair color, shorter length, and shape somewhat resembled Sylvia's.  That made me unhappy. As did Peggy's poor judgment to get emotionally entangled with Ted.

@ Dave_T - Agreed.  And thanks for referencing my comment at Sepinwall's Hitfix review.

Other gay (or bi) characters:

I think Ken may have no choice but to move on now. I can just imagine these sotto voice comments being made at SC&P behind Cosgrove's back:

Sorry to be repetitive (as I posted this about Carla somewhere above) - I think the naming of the unseen character at Mrs. Porter's School Carla was supposed to remind us of the other side of Betty - who unfairly and unceremoniously fired the Drapers' Carla, wouldn't let her say goodbye to the children, and refused to

Peggy to Don: "You're a monster!"

Poor Sal.  If HE'D done that for LG, Jr., he could've kept his job.

@ Mathilde - RE: "It's not gay…it's European!"

Rolo did, after all, deserve an ass whoopin'. And Sally (via Glen) was just the woman to make that happen. Rolo will be shocked at how impossible it will be to forget it ever happened.

I think that callback was but one of two reasons why the writers chose the name Carla for the unseen character at Mrs. Porter's.  The second is to remind us that Betty - though sweet and relatable in this episode - can be a monster. Remember how/why she let the Drapers' Carla go, and then didn't even give the woman a

@ cub - RE: "he was forcing her, though."

Or "aka Ben Hargrove".
