I think I'd be interested in seeing a more direct take on The Shining. I prefer Kubrick's movie to King's book by a pretty significant margin (I do like the book though), but I've never seen the miniseries so I can't comment. I can agree with the idea that Kubrick's movie isn't a particularly good adaptation in terms

I've been enjoying this album, but I am really not a fan of "Biscuits". It sounds like a poor "Follow Your Arrow" ripoff that has the notable distinction of being done by the same artist. "High Time", on the other hand, is a killer opener and probably the best track on the whole thing. This album isn't as consistently

"Being gay" isn't a view.

Pretty into this one. I had a really hard time with Once I Was An Eagle (It kind of bothers me how that seems to be her consensus 'best' when I consider myself a big fan but I just can't get into it). It still consider I Speak Because I Can and A Creature I Don't Know to be her best, but I found this at least more

Yeah, the Harry Potter bit really brought back memories of my mom doing the same as well. But the bit of Boyhood that unexpectedly got me emotional was during Mason's last scene with his dad where they're going to see his friend play at that bar. And it's the dad's friend from years and years ago that we've seen

Ugh, The Sting. Whenever it cuts back to the hospital with Fry saying "Please wake up" and breaking down…that shit gets me bad.

I draw that line too and for me it's just about perception. There are some movies (usually the ones described as "tearjerkers") where it seems like the #1 priority is the emotional impact, and those don't tend to get to me because I feel like I can see the strings being pulled to try and make me cry, and it just pulls

Yeah, Luck of the Fryrish gets me more than Jurassic Bark does, and I love my dog and hate my brother, so who knows what that's all about.

Oh my goodness, would you look at baby Jared Padalecki up there? Darling. I should watch this show.

That couch gag was pretty amazing. I'm pretty sure it's the only place that the show is even trying anymore, and I'm sure that's mostly due to the fact that they're exporting them. As far as I'm concerned, these bizarre extended couch gags are going to be the only worthwhile legacy of the show's third decade.

Also not having much to go on in the way of age or ethnicity, I had Nicole Beharie as the Surveyor, Evelyne Brochu as the Anthropologist and Marcia Gay Harden as the Psychologist. The Biologist is the only one I couldn't quite place for some reason, I didn't have a clear picture in my head for her, the closest I got

I was writing almost this exact comment when I decided to scroll down some more and saw yours. I would love to see how Annihilation translates to the screen, and I've already developed some dream casting in my head.

You know what, I'm actually really looking forward to this. This year as given us fuck-all for horror so far, at least in wide release, and this looks like the best we're gonna get.

Naked Ben Franklin, Headless and Also Shirtless Horseman, weird flash-forward-or-maybe-dream-wait-definitely-dream opener, John Noble getting a lackey with a flaming sword. Oh how I missed these crazy kids.

If they hire an actor even half has hot as Michael Chernow to play one of the meatball whatever guys, I'll watch it.

Scooby Doo wasn't a great movie but the cast, including Lillard, were spot-on, which is why it feels like such a waste. I wish it made any sense at all for a Scooby Doo movie to be made with a 21 Jump Street-style meta-humour not aimed at kids, because that's a movie I would kill to see, and I'd honestly be fine if it

Tightrope is one of my favorite songs but Big Boi's verse is so ill-advised it nearly kills it. Luckily the rest of the song is perfection so I deal with it.

God I hate that song.

Finn Wittrock is listed in the credits. You may know him as the hot gay prostitute from Masters of Sex. I'm like 85% sure that's the main reason why Murphy hired him.
