I am so fucking pumped for this. Bring on the Maslanys.

I found parts of Insidious Chapter 2 pretty scary, but I'll admit that more of that was probably due to the fact that I saw it in a packed theater, and when you're in a packed theater for an even passable horror movie, the crowd environment elevates it a lot, both in the scare factor and the overall fun factor.

And The Haunting in Connecticut 4: Ghosts of Georgia 3: A Demonic Possession in California 2: The Lastest Exorcism in Delaware

The main problem for me is that she has a pretty distinctive voice regardless of accent, so I feel like even if she was doing an impeccable American accent, my mind would be trying to fill in the blanks with her Scottish ticks and it would inevitably sound wonky.

The last two years have actually been pretty good for horror now that the subgenre in vogue is out of torture porn territory and back into supernatural/old-school ghost stories. The Woman in Black, The Conjuring, Sinister, both Insidiouses, etc…all varying degrees of quality (though I like them all more or less), but

I'm pretty excited for this one, and anything above the C range for a horror movie is promising for me. I've been looking forward to this since I first heard that Karen Gillan and Katee Sackhoff would be in a movie together. Two of my favourite ladies in an actually pretty well-reviewed (if RT is to be believed)

Yeah the execution felt a little chintzy and glossed over the Mother's death (my biggest issue) but I don't mind it in theory at least.

I have a lot of issues with the finale but this actually isn't one of them. The Mother died in 2024, so the kids were 8 or 9 or so when it happened, and they're teenagers now. That seems like a perfectly acceptable timeframe for them to accept that their mother is gone and they want their father to be happy, and even

Excellent analysis and summation of what has always bothered me about the whole "When are we going to get to the fireworks factory?" criticism of this show. Say what you will about how the show got a little broad and silly in its later seasons and I will certainly agree with you, but the idea that the show only exists

I may consider watching this if it turns out that the 12-episode run means that it's going to be going at 2x real time. Jack Bauer's antics can really only be improved by being reinterpreted as Benny Hill style shenanigans.

You had me at Rock Angels.

Abbie is definitely the lead of the show. Ichabod may be part of the story hook but he isn't really the main protagonist. At most they're equal lead roles, and since they're not romantically linked (yet and hopefully ever), it should count. Sleepy Hollow is one of the best shows around right now for smashing tokenism.

I probably couldn't either, but I liked it when I saw it and didn't spend that much time thinking about it afterwards so maybe that's why I don't hate it.

Things I've learned from this thread: I'm the only person left who will admit to liking Prometheus.

The human beehive was the most Bryan Fuller this show has ever felt and it was great. The lobotomy scene was the first time I had to cover my eyes during this show. It was pretty much unbearable. Way to go, Hannibal. I survived people impaled on antlers and all manner of things, human cellos, the fucking back-skin

So you're saying people are more receptive to being hit on by people they find attractive? What a novel concept!

It's Jeff's own fault for standing around being so sexy all the time. Men are objects!

I also thought the movie was far from great, but the use of music was one of the things about it I really liked.

So a great way?

I only know her from playing herself on Childrens Hospital's Newsreaders episode and that's all I need to see, I think.
