I find it a little curious that they're going the 'repressed memories route' (as someone else put it), especially since they seemed to be hinting that the machine IS the key to getting everything back the way it was, and Walter might start standing in the way of that.

I also thought that it was the two timelines merging somehow, but I think that explanation would have pissed me off a little bit, since there's no way Peter's existence (or lack thereof) would have such an effect on the town of Westfield.

Yeah, I got a strange X-Files vibe from all that stuff too. But especially the opening scene, with the radios going all wonky. Wasn't that an integral part of the X-Files pilot?

Cas, Sam, Dean. Sam was my favey until Cas showed up and knocked my pants off.

Great episode tonight, I really loved it, probably more than I should have. The story felt like classic Fringe, but with enough mythology going on to make it not feel like a wasteful standalone. I liked the callback to Johari Window, even though the episodes weren't as similar as the initial plot synopsis made it

Agreed. Hotter than Summer Glau, anyway, but I definitely see her appeal too.

Buffy - Spike
Angel - Wesley Wyndham-Pryce (Post-Badassifying)
Dollhouse - Victor
Community - Jeff Winger (Kind of a douche, but…I don't need to justify myself)
Supernatural - Sam Winchester. Dean Winchester. Castiel. Everybody but Bobby.
Parks & Rec - Andy Dwyer and Ben

Oh man, that was great. I remember hearing in a commentary for some episode that the crew of Buffy thought of her as something of an acting robot. They could basically just give her a script and tell her what notes to hit and she would hit all of them perfectly (ie in something like The Body, which will always serve

"Henry will finally have something to do in general  besides wear turtlenecks and pretend to have children" This made me lol way louder than it should have.

I should hope that Ringer's titles are intentionally hilarious. "What Are You Doing Here, Ho-Bag?" is easily my favorite. I'm happy it actually ended up becoming a title once it was dangled in front of me as the title for Episode 10 and then tragically torn away in favor of something duller.

I really enjoyed it. Probably the best pilot I've seen so far this season (though to be fair, I've seen few). Katherine McPhee was a surprisingly good actress; I'd only ever seen her on Community before, and there she was meh. The rest of the cast is top notch too. I'll be tuning in again. I need something to fill the

You have no soul?

I had a thought about how September lost his time-stick. I think we're thinking about time way too linearly for that to make sense, and a few have mentioned that in other comments. Some people here (or on IMDb, I can't remember), mentioned that it's possible that the new Observer is, for some reason or another, trying

"Maybe Peter being erased (being removed going backwards, rather than everything playing out once again from scratch) could explain it."

No, I don't think so, and I wasn't entirely sure whether the Observer was supposed to be moving through the glass/window (ie from the inside to the outside of the building and then back in), or if he was supposed to be stepping out of the glass from nowhere.

Interesting tidbit: The glyphs tonight (they still do those!) spelled out "Empath", an obvious reference to the Season 1 episode Inner Child, with that empathic child who was hinted to perhaps be a young observer. Maybe a potential Observer origin story coming up?

I think 'Back to Where You've Never Been', in which he appears to Olivia with a gunshot wound.

Ah, ok. I didn't quite get all that, the only channel Fringe airs on here is all glitchy (thankfully in this episode it was mostly during the silences).

Aaaaaaaaand another question: did they explain how long Neil's had the stick thing for and how he's been using it? They said September lost it in 1985. Has Neil supposedly had it since 1985?

So…do all Obeservers have a glowy stick of Tears of Ra with them? Because it seems like they don't use it…ever. Or was that just a thing Neil added? I don't even
