Yeah I think this is right. Kilgrave was operating on a 16-hour scale when he first met Luke. And by the time he meets Jessica in the club, Kilgrave is up to 24 hours.

I think the fight reached a point where it was either maybe put her own life in danger or definitely watch Jessica die. Unsurprisingly, Trish chose the selfless option.

Agree 100% about the nudges and winks, but actually having a whole Wakanda subplot in Ultron felt weird to me. I mean I guess it was just part of the movie's international flair, but it felt kind of distracting a la Thor's dream cave.

The show really highlighted Trish's badass krav maga skills there and then basically forgot about them for the rest of the season.

I was excited to see the SuperMax thing too although I did really love the Trish/Kilgrave suburban episode.

I actually think the Trish/Simpson fight in E3 is way better than this one. But I agree it's cool to watch people who are equally matched.

One thing Law & Order: SVU does SO well is to emphasize the abuse is a cycle without excusing abusers. I agree it would have been cool to see Jessica Jones do the same. Really the whole Kilgrave parents thing was pretty misconceived/mismanaged in general.

Why do you think Nick Fury shaves his head?

Very good points.

I wish all of Kilgrave's commands started with, "Don't hurt my feelings by making fun of me." That would be very much keeping in character.

Malcolm is definitely a secret star of this show.

Especially because Simpson talked about the blue pills for what felt like 20 minutes. He specifically said, "She will stop breathing if she doesn't take these." And then when Trish stopped breathing Jessica was all, "What could possibly be going wrong with you?!?" Her PI skills were not on point in that scene.

It was too short! I wanted it to build more!

This is a little tangential, but I don't really understand the purpose of MCU teases.

But still, the pills would just fall straight down, right? He threw them from across the room, they couldn't have launched that far. Jessica can "fly" anyway, she could have been down there in two seconds.

I ran out of space, but I initially wanted to touch on the fact that Simpson becoming violent after being controlled by Kilgrave is also a commentary on the cycle of abuse.

I think my problem, at least, is that while any one (or maybe two) of these moments of violence would be effective when you lump them altogether they start to lose their power. And if the show wanted to specifically amp up Kilgrave's villainy (which I agree is effective here) maybe we didn't also need the Clemons,

Hey, why stop at 13 reviews in 3 days when you can write long comments too! (And thanks!)

"Bitches, right?"

Which is especially weird because there's no set time on these episodes. They range from 45-55 minutes.
