Supergroup? Again?
I know it's a subjective term, but I really think the 'supergroup' tag is overused. Granted, I'm not as knowledgeable in hip hop, but it seems that any group with a few members of other marginally-known groups is now considered 'super'. That distorts the term to a point where it's near meaningless.

I don't think I'd quite processed that the Fray and Train were, in fact, different bands and I have no idea what either sounds like (I'm assuming whale music, backed by inoffensively crunchy guitars and a swelling string section). They're both words (and bands) that just kind of fly right past without registering.

As a person who, at least at the moment, really does not like Beth/Rest, can I ask what draws you to it? I was never a fan of the 80s style, so I might just miss that reference point. I'm just curious whether it's an 80s thing, or if there is something else I can reflect on in future listens.

McCloud! I agree wholeheartedly. I felt the same way about 'Woods' off Blood Bank. A lot of reviews hailed that autotuned monstrosity as some bold statement, but I just felt it was the biproduct of a subtly innovative artist trying too hard to be overtly innovative. I think Bon Iver DOES offer a lot beyond the typical

Tangential Question
I'm sort of curious - why do games use 'stand-in' cities for the real ones? I can't see it being a licensing issue when an ENTIRE CITY is involved, although I suppose maybe individual buildings could be protected? However, I've also played games, often shitty, low-rent ones that DO use the real

I had no desire to see this movie and assumed it was bad in a fairly generic way, but if it has a scene in it of Dave Matthews picking up a coconut with his ass-cheeks, it must officially be the worst movie ever made. The mind boggles….

Depravity!
"screwing dames without wondering much about the reasons"
Meaningless sex?!? Well, I never! One should always go into these sorts of relations with clear reasons, guidelines, judgment criteria and monitoring frameworks in place.

This movie really turned me off anything Wockeen (sp?) Phoenix does, as he just seemed to REALLY overestimate how much people cared (the arrogance Rabin mentioned definitely bleeds over into real life), and came away with most people offering a general shrug. To me, it was sort of like somebody, I don't know, building

Somebody said it in the Beautiful Boy review, but this guy seems to be able to convincingly play an single famous person in the history of the world, all without significantly changing his appearance. Rumour has it he just signed on the play the lead in the Shaquille O'Neal biopic.

Good Call Mr Artist etc. Shoot Out the Lights in goddamn brilliant.

I wasn't being completely sarcastic with the reasonable debate, as I think you bring up some good (and true) points.
I suppose Apple does seem to inspire much stronger feelings one way or another than, say Google (who most are ambivalent to, but I'm one who waffles between trying to decide who I trust less - Apple,

Thanks Steven. That's great to hear! I really like the idea of that kind of thing, especially as music is my favourite part of the site.

'Very few companies plaster their logos everywhere, and are always completely hones with you, have perfect service and are reasonably priced'

Fair point, Mr Unintelligible Name. I'll be interested to see how their sound changed as a whole.

Thanks Steven for clearing this up, and I think that's all most people wanted. I wasn't overly offended by the Dawes post, but it did seem a bit out of place to me (maybe my faulty memory, but as the Judge said, I just couldn't recall seeing it for relatively unknown bands before). That being said, in theory I like

I haven't heard the new one yet, but I'm pretty excited about it. To be honest, Braxton was my least favourite part of the band, and I'm interested to hear how they do with (in my opinion) more interesting guest singers.

I've been meaning to check them out based on comparisons to the Fresh & Onlys, and am confident that they probably have the second-best song called 'Spider Cider' that I've ever heard. Man Man represent!

What's saddest of all is that Hyden recognises that Dawes is 'a band that's honed its snappily melodic folk-rock over the course of dozens of one-night stands the last few years', and yet is blind to the fact that, in short course, he too will be relegated to being a one-night stand.

I don't know this band, but it sounds like something I might like. Also, wow - while I can see love and subsequent divorce from your creative partner being a possible boon to artistry (see Fleetwood Mac's Rumours for the most obvious example), it's also the kind of thing that I don't think I would be man enough to be
