Shit, we're already calling it 'turn of the century'? That makes me feel old, and also disappointed, as I was really hoping 'Detachable Penis' was a hit song around 1900.

Nice Review
That's a great last line. It's not my type of music, but that almost makes me want to check it out.

Not So Sure….
Hmmm, I must say that bubbly, sugar-sweet synth pop that sparkles, shimmers (verb) and soars on girlish vocals, producing a beautiful electronic shimmer (noun) does not sound like something I might like. I guess that makes this comment pointless, but I felt bad that nobody was paying attention to Ear Pwr

I must admit, I'm curious to hear more from a guy named 'Dick Cavett Poo Party' about his theories on the gender divide and how one listens to music.

Mr Tanguy and Mr Bloggs,
They clap when a plane lands all the damn time in Eastern Europe. It was pretty odd the first time I heard it, but I kind of like it. Hey, why not acknowledge the pilot? I'd kind of like it if the office all applauded when I handed in a report.

This was an odd but interesting thread. I just read Noel's sentence as highlighting the fact that this movie doesn't try to distil high school into the typical Hughesian mould, and shows that time in high school is as much about your growth in other areas (finding your intellectual and creative passions and interests

Montypark, Buffalo Springfield's 'For What It's Worth' in any '60s changing to 70s montage.

I guess different people read reviews for different reasons. I think these short-form ones are very useful for describing the sound of a band you may not know and whether the band pulls off that sound (which I feel this review did). By 'constructive criticism' are you suggesting that the reviewer should have written

Thanks for the recommendations, all. Given what you say, I might just go with whatever gonzo plot I feel suits me best!

The internet? I think they do have it in Australia, Mr Brooklyn. In fact, you might even be on it right now!

Move Under Ground
I tend to be more of a fan of books that hew closer to reality and this one sounds a bit much, but has anybody read Move Under Ground? It sounds intriguing and I'm wondering if it's worth checking out.

Mr Lugans,
And don't forget the zeppelini. Zappa is indeed still here. In fact, the recent Baltimore statue is based on the Lithuanian one. Come see the original!

Or how about Vilnius, Lithuania, where they filmed Nuodemes uzkalbejimas? I'd take ya guys out for supper.

I know I'm a foreigner, but does this make sense to anybody else? '…the reason I have to listen to old dudes eating brownies during concerts'? That doesn't sound so bad. It's better than the young dudes eating biscuits wherever I go, but either way, there's gotta be better places to focus your hatred, no?

Hmmmm, I'm beginning to think that maybe this commenter is not the real Noam Chomsky.

"Everyone is so sophisticated, until the fucking starts."
Seriously, how many times am I going to hear that phrase today?!? Man, I work in a weird office.

Music reviews get some flack on here, but as they're in the print version, they have to be short. It might not be revolutionary, but this review was fairly informative to me. I'd say it combines elements of Kate Bush, the Knife, Cocteau Twins and Gary Numan. That gives me a pretty good indication of what it sounds

Nah, Yee Yee definitely didn't do the Grey Album.

This, right here, is a good thread. Honest discussion, and such like. Also, it reveals man's inhumane nature towards man, and the horrors that are wrought by such indifference. Madoff, you were a man for this world, which also makes you a horrible human being!

Man, and I thought the first comment was fucked up. Seriously, what is wrong with the world? We should welcome the end, which is apparently coming 21 May. Party at my house on the 20th. You're all invited.
