Hmmm, I guess I gotta agree with the cat with a melon on his (her?) head. However, I do not like the (fake) word 'craptacular' and will instead say abominable.

Nice try, but I know for a fact that Kim didn't fupz anybody.
Fair point, deputy mayor. Now get back to work! I didn't get to be mayor for nothing.
Partdavid, good question. Maybe the Thin Red Line? However, if anything, the movie was MORE internal than the book.
A Comment That Actually Addresses the Movie
Barney's Version is by far my favourite Mordecai Richler novel. While I'm disappointed to hear that the film adaptation doesn't live up to its source material, I can't say that I'm surprised. The first person view of the book is (in my view) integral to its reflections on…
Thanks folks, I feel quite well today, thanks to the kindness of my fellow commenters!
I swear that was not a 'firstie' attempt. I find those quite tiresome, but what am I supposed to say when they have two records and I am trying to compare their second to their…never mind. Sheep, flock forth with your tired wishes that I fall ill.
Broken Records Fix Me Up Just Fine
This is a band that never seems to get much love, but I like 'em quite a bit. I have a soft spot for drama and catharsis, and they're pretty good at that. In fact, this album is much less bombastic than their first.
Whoa. I guess that'll teach me not to think. Thanks for the intelligent response Bluemoon, and from now on I've learned my lesson that I should probably just punch my weight and regress to discussing fictional, unfunny diseases.
You know, I was just thinking (something I try to do once a year, and 2011 is young). People always complain about the cliche of the promiscuous girl always being the one to get murdered first, but really, it makes some sense. Wouldn't a girl who's willing to go off with some man she barely knows be more likely to put…
I'm thinking of getting rid of my subscription (UK) to eMusic, as it seems to be really going downhill. I joined it because it had the bands I like at affordable prices. Now, it seems to have overpriced Paul McCartney.
RIP, You Magnificent Bastard
To be honest, I didn't listen to a lot of Captain Beefheart growing up. Still, I had a great deal of respect for Don Van Vliet. He made the world a little more unpredictable, and I appreciate that. Also, O'Neal captured the man magnificently:
Brief light? I mean, it's sad and all, but he was 88. If he'd directed those movies and died when he was 10, now that would be a brief light. Me, I'm 3 times that age and still trying to get a spark.
He's 79? From that photo I wouldn't have guessed a day over 30.
Bears All Look the Same to Me
Uh Oh, has anybody seen Raging Bear around?
Is this the guy that did the song 'Sandstorm'? Now THAT was quality craftsmanship!
I have their 'A Flood Tomorrow' EP and was really underwhelmed, as it just struck me as very generic pop punk. Is this one a great leap forward style-wise? I was excited by the Gaslight Anthem and Lucero comparisons, and usually trust the AV Club when it comes to music reviews, but I find their tolerance for pop punk…
Also, does anybody else find it odd that Paul Provenza and Penn Jillette were literally prodding Bob Saget with a little electrical prod? I mean, I know there was that one Full House episode, but still…
Bob Saget - Frightening Me Since Childhood
Maybe it's my fault, because I'm drunk and projecting, but this guy seemed a little…all over the place. I guess I would be too if I spent half my time telling dick jokes and half the time entertaining grandmothers with family values.
No More Perfect Strangers?
Bronson Pinchot is quitting Facebook? Who will entertain me with their hilarious foreign antics now?
Neil Young's Oliver Stone Biopic
Hey Folks,
Long-term lurker, occasional pornographer. I just wanted to say hello. Finally. After many attempts at connecting. Apparently, AV Club discriminates against Lithuanian-Canadian-Hungarian-English-displaced immigrants. With bad breath. Assholes. See you all soon, when life…
