For some reason, I mistook him at first for Frank Henenlotter, and was astounded the director of Basket Case had made a movie about Jack Abramoff.
It's funny, I was just listening to They Might Be Giants John Henry this morning, and it has that song whose lyrics are basically Alice Cooper song titles.
Okay, not funny, but coincidental.
I would agree, and I think it helps that, once again, it's more like interconnected stories than a novel. I also love Something Wicked This Way Comes, but it has the same problem, where you feel maybe a teeny bit of restraint in some places would've made the book just perfect.
Perhaps the most meta fake episode was the one where everyone was suddenly inexplicably a huge fan of the band Arrested Development, and at the end they did a concert at the local club, The Peach Stone.

Bone is for kids, yes. Some of the stories are dark, in a Lord of the Rings way, and the bathing scene is a maybe a tad risque, but it's for kids.
