Unfortunately her fucko of a husband - her manager - signed her on to do tons of movies she didn't want to do around this time.  She ended up almost dying because of it.  After he died, she found out he blew all her money also.

Love this movie!  It has some pretty funny innocent/risque scenes. Rock's apartment, which has a switch that turns it from an average well lit living room into a rape room.  The split screen bathtub phone conversation where it looks like they're in a bubblebath together playing footsy.

See how different he is from everyone else?  I hope he lets me be his friend!

Every time someone uses the word "wheelhouse" I want to fucking strangle them.

I think it's more like: The only way to shape your identity is to enthusiastically hate things that other people like.

I don't think because he's aware of how nasty people are, that means he reads them a lot.  It takes about 2 seconds to get a good sampling of the type of conversation that goes on here.
