Echos, you also completely ignored Twin Peaks in your argument. Sure, there's a major dip in quality in the latter half, but it withstands the test of time just fine, and was miles (streets) ahead of anything else on tv at the time, save for maybe The Larry Sanders Show. And even that doesn't hold up quite as well on…
That and Seth MacFarlane's tv shows!
"Basically, I really hope this isn't the end of the Pierce-redemption storyline, because I don't think it's done at all."
Still, it was nice of him to put it up that fast. As Lawdog said, it gave me something to do while Perfect Couples is on.
You mean fail?
Wow!
That was fast, Todd!
I believe that was Jack sans-Meg. So to answer your question: no.
Hate to say it, Heisler
I normally love these write-ups, but this one sure was phoned-in for such a great episode. Sure, an episode this great speaks for itself in a lot of ways, but so many things got no mention at all. Ron's video for his future self? The whole intervention scene period? You called cornrows…
This took The Sopranos' review slot over for a while, which is why the announcement was posted there. As a loyal reader of the Sopranos write-ups, I am both sad to be without them and excited to read these and watch along.

By far
The worst episode of this series so far. I was surprised to see it rated so highly, as it was a C- at best.
Popeye
How has no one mentioned Popeye yet? Was this not his first actual appearance on the show? If memory serves me correctly, he has only been mentioned by other characters up to this point.
Did I miss a part?
The first paragraph talks about Michael acting like a petulant child at the top of the episode. After the Ryan/Kelly cold open, the episode I watched went straight in to the Pam's doodle setup and then Jim and Michael leaving the office. Michael had no interaction with Holly until the end of the…
Shut the fuck up, Donnie! You are out of your element!
The Abyss?
I'll admit I only read "underwater cave expedition gone awry", but how is this NOT exactly like The Abyss, again? If you're going to be derivative, at least steal from yourself, I suppose.
I know you're kidding, but it's interesting how hard that question has become to answer over the years. The US version has had it's low points, but it's fleshed out those characters in a way that just wasn't possible for the UK version, especially the side characters.
Optimistically doubtful
I don't really know what more you can do with those characters after the "Do America" movie (which was way better than the series), but why not? It's got to be better than any other programming currently on MTV.
I was thinking it had to be one or the other. A daunting task because it's such a great series, or too many people arguing over who gets to cover it.
Will miss these for 6 weeks.
But I'm excited to see coverage of Spaced (and later the UK Office!) as well.
