I love everything that's happening here.

I don't know if this counts, but I've never in my life eaten a fast food hamburger. I fuckin' love chicken nuggets, though.

Me neither. I'll see myself out.

I'm very sorry to hear about the breakup. Just give it some time, and treat yourself well.

Thank you for the synopsis. My husband and I were discussing Freddy as the untrainable hound (as you aptly put it). Dobbs and his wife were obviously frustrated that Freddy's behavior could not be controlled. I was relieved at the end that Freddy was the same as he ever was. That the manipulation from Dobbs and his

I mentioned upthread how I made my husband was Such A Beautiful Day this weekend. I always loved watching Rejected in college, and I was happy to see Hertzfeldt was still doing his thing (to more depressing results, however).

I don't think I've ever watched Tommy all the way through. What a cinematic fustercluck. Tina Turner kicks ass in it, though.

Were they good friends? I don't know about that. Dobbs enabled his behavior and instilled a violent allegiance to his cause in Freddy. He referred to Quell as his "soldier". I just saw Freddy as a hopeless man who wanted to do something he could be proud of. IMHO Dobbs was his father figure, not really a friend.

Your username is crushing me.

Due to participating in a 3rd annual Sober January, I have had a lot of free evenings of sitting around twiddling my thumbs and drinking tea. I also haven't had a full night's sleep in 2 weeks, so I've had plenty of time to catch up on pop culture.

Don't patronize me. What the hell makes you think anyone falls instantly in love? That is left to a Nicholas Sparks movie.

I like how Liz Lemon puts it- she says something to the effect of "I just wish I could start a relationship about twelve years in when you don't really have to try anymore…"

That book, and You Shall Die by Your Own Evil Creation! is beyond comprehension. Have you read that piece on Dangerous Minds about Hanks? I don't necessarily agree with him being labelled an "outsider artist", but it's an interesting read. http://dangerousminds.net/c…

I'm very sorry to hear about your cat. It's really hard to articulate that loss to people who don't have pets, or hate cats in particular, but it sounds like she lived a good long life. She was lucky to have you as her owner.

Brazil is a totally legit Christmas movie.

The Tempest is probably my favorite Shakespeare play.

That's what I do. I put the frozen item in a pot with tap-hot (not boiling) water. I'll keep checking on it while I'm chopping, and it really doesn't take long.

My in-laws INSISTED on buying us a microwave after visiting our apartment and finding out we didn't have one. They thought they were doing us a favor, but it just takes up what precious little counter space we have. I think I microwave tea in it occasionally?

Oof. Just edging out Michael Moorecock!
