Friday I went to see Birdman. What a strange and beautiful movie. The cast was awesome, the writing was excellent, and the cinematography was mind-boggling (those long shots!).

Are you part of the police force, or were you working on a volunteer search & rescue team? It sounds like you did good work, even if it didn't have a happy ending. I'm sorry for the family's loss.

I agree wholeheartedly. Mike is a great host, but I always liked Joel's nonchalance.

My husband is a comic art collector. I can't even name all of the stuff he has, but the highlights of his collection are a John Byrne She-Hulk page, and a Wally Wood page.

Bill Sienkiewicz is seriously the nicest guy. He does Boston Comic-Con nearly every year. I'm a big fan of his fine art, and so my husband bought me this incredible drawing he did of an old man with a long white beard. He looks like he did it in about 2 minutes, but it's still gorgeous.

I wish AV Club would stop posting those Birdman trailers. I'm really excited to see the movie, but it's not playing in my city until next week and I'm trying to go in to it knowing as little about it as possible.
