Last night, my husband and I celebrated our first year anniversary. The first year gift theme is "paper", so we bought each other comic art. He got me a charity jam piece that was done at San Diego in 2005. What makes it something really, really special is that it has sketches from ALL THREE HERNANDEZ BROTHERS on it.

Yeeeeeah Viva Viva. Best local act in Boston! "Sympathy For the Devil's Little Helper" is fantastic.

It's not sold everywhere in the States, but we will go to a grocery store completely out of our way to buy a giant jar of it. My husband eats it by the spoonful.

WORTH EVERY PENNY. I want to run my fingers through his greasy black hair.

Damn, that is a good find. I just have my dad's busted up copy. :)

That Sharon Van Etten album is sooo good.

Of course Doc Hammer has a band. Before I roll my eyes so hard that I pull a muscle….is it any good?

Aw man! I would totally be down for this, but I'm going to see Jack White at Fenway.

Water and Advil, my friend. A dark room if you can swing it. You'll get through it.

Nope. Peter Pan or GTFO.

It's underrated, and a really great example of modern soul. During a rather nasty bout of insomnia I was up in the wee hours channel surfing. There was something on a public broadcasting network called "Live at the Harvard Club". In my sleep-deprived brain, I chuckled thinking of a barbershop quartet wearing varsity

Did you ever read Patti Smith's 'Just Kids'? It's kind of a weird thing that sticks with me (as it's a powerful and emotional book), but when she talks about getting in to smoking pot for the first time, she listened to 'The Harder They Come' soundtrack all the time. She describes 'Sweet and Dandy' as "The most joyful

Happy Birthday!

I'm really glad this article was written. I've mentioned this in another comment thread, but the first time I heard "Rainbow" on the radio, I was eating dinner and stopped immediately to find out what the song was. I thought it was a new band, and I was instantly obsessed with the single. I was impressed to find out

This headline was one long dejected sigh.

This was great! I also loved his AV Club Undercover of Springsteen's Atlantic City a few years back. I also have a massive, ill-advised crush on him, but that's neither here nor there.

Townes has somewhat of a …um, colorful past, and it has come through in his previous albums. I was expecting a cover of this song to be grittier than it was.

I'm not big on dustables, but these are ADORABLE.

I was sooo excited for the New Pornos record. The day before I went out to buy it, I was writing down this adolescent memory I had the other day that is closely tied to the album Electric Version and I just had the overwhelming urge to listen to them all the time forever.
