I'm certainly not denying it.

WHEN IT SPOILS…
On the other hand, whatever contacts he did have left, they weren't safe enough [or alive enough] when he needed to find a safehouse for himself, Damar, and Kira. Except Mila, of course.

To me, the other thing about the bickering is that it's suggestive of the Dominion's attitudes. Weyoun lays out the plan, pushes aside Damar's questions, and then insults Dukat as caring too much about his *daughter*… and ultimately, Damar has to acquiesce, to pledge his obedience to the Founders.

We meet Tolar; we never do meet whoever it is who wanted the biomimetic gel. Perhaps it was Garak himself?

Weren't there peace talks back in 'Statistical Probabilities'? In any case, it doesn't entirely surprise me. The Dominion's open to negotiations, after all.

Well, the Romulans would apparently fall apart quickly if Romulus itself were taken, so I suspect that Trek powers tend to have one major world and various outlying colonies.
In fairness, if the capital falls, if the enemy can penetrate to the heart of your defenses… that's the sort of thing that leads to surrenders.

The Betazoids did resist the initial invasion, but Betazed fell in less than ten hours. According to the script, anyway.

If I had, would I be any more likely to say so than you would be to say you worked for the Obsidian Order if you had? Though if you're going to be that blatant in public, I doubt you'd go far in the Order.

It's not just that Sisko's a 'liar'; heck, I imagine it's more that Vreenak wants to think of Sisko as someone who takes *calculated* risks (most notably, starting the War in the first place, on the basis that the Dominion was building up too fast in Cardassian space - intelligence that Vreenak would've certainly also

Garak certainly likes bombs. Back when he wanted to get Odo's attention about an assassin on DS9, he planted a bomb in his shop. I suspect he likes the distance it puts between him and the violence he's committing; he finds hand-to-hand combat quite distasteful, as I recall.

Besides, a bomb and evidence of a planned invasion would be more effective than simply evidence of a planned invasion; after all, if Vreenak came home with a datarod he trusted as correct, the first move would probably be for the Tal'Shiar to step up monitoring Dominion activity, to figure out where their fleets would

Stray notes:
1) It strikes me that Sisko, Dax, etc. continually refer to 'the safety of the entire Alpha Quadrant' rather than 'winning the war' or 'protecting the Federation.'

Not to mention, we *know* the proof Sisko provides is manufactured.

and Beans?

Well put, SisterMaryFrancis. By the way, here's my comment on this whole Shia LeBeouf plagiarism article thing.

"Was this article seriously written at a fevered pace the night after seeing Phantom Menace?"
Article was posted at midnight on May 19, the day the film was released. So, most likely yes?

yeah - gotta say, this makes the movie sound better than i thought. i liked anchorman… but i was kinda unsure about a sequel, especially one that's released almost a decade after the first.

That's what you have to tell yourself, and ultimately, you had better win. Otherwise, you're not guerrillas, but rather bandits and thugs; they're not collaborators, but rather citizens and police.

WHAT YOU LEAVE BEHIND OFTEN SPOILS
Looking at it from the other side, though… the Dominion was losing the war. They had been driven back to Cardassia Prime, and were being ground off it. The virus & cure ensured that the war ended with a negotiated peace, but Section 31 was not essential to winning the war. At
