@avclub-146bc30c345d31f3468fec764a1970e1:disqus Social/financial pressure?  Sure, you could work with someone banned by the FCA… but you'll need to look elsewhere for capital, because no bank would risk loaning to someone operating in violation of the FCA?

@avclub-bca3531762af8a993c4f60c48fd5e33b:disqus Same with the Dominion… but their ethical review boards don't care so much about risks to solids.

@avclub-383d3906a81567a4790639391dc4ecd7:disqus How much different are Romulans from Vulcans, anyway?

I prefer 'spacist', for some reason.

@avclub-0bac5746aa760492dbce3d5dfd26ab9c:disqus You, it seems?  For all your flirting, you don't seem to have had much success.  A pity.  I'm sure you're far too familiar with lonely evenings spent curled up with only a novel as a companion.  A bit surprising, considering that normally, beauty and wit are appreciated…

Yes… that is how I like my tea.  I think this is the first time I've ordered tea here, though…

From the Liberator?

*Bajoran-style applause*

Immune doesn't necessarily mean they can't get drunk?

None for me, thanks - I prefer my groatcakes dry.  Syrup of squill's just too sweet for my tastes.

@avclub-0f2aab038be93ff407d92af691001e73:disqus What, specifically, do those studies mean by religion?  Do they mean religiosity (public displays of faith, evangelism, etc.), do they mean deeper belief in religion, do they mean placing more importance on religious rituals, or perhaps something else?  Also, how do they

@avclub-04d524031f29c89d78cae864bd6f0de7:disqus I did say it was a pointless fanwank, didn't I?

Perhaps a flower?  'The Gossiping Daxes are growing in nicely, don't you think?'

@avclub-0bac5746aa760492dbce3d5dfd26ab9c:disqus Ah, this hits the spot.  Why don't we split the bottle?  It's not worth keeping it all to myself.  And that way, maybe I could get a better look at your outfit, see if it's really *plain* (as it looks from here) or fashionably functional.

Perhaps our waitress secretly owns the restaurant, and she's spotted an undercover food critic?  To be sure, such an overt ploy as this generosity should be beneath the cleverness of a Cardassian…

Care to share with us your experiences with Cardassian weddings?

@avclub-0bac5746aa760492dbce3d5dfd26ab9c:disqus How many Shelbys do you see?  And how many drinks have they ordered?

pointless fanwank: the mirror-verse we see in 'Emperor's New Cloak' is a different one from the others.  Incredibly similar, but just different enough that the Alliance doesn't have cloaks this time around.

Romulan weddings, I hear, are generally rather dull, though they sometimes try to liven things up with a few poisonings.

As long as someone's buying the drinks, or at least as long as drinks keep getting bought, I think they won't mind you giving a few away on the house.  Worst comes to worse, they shift it from being 'on the house' to on *your* tab.  Who knows, you might even be able to afford it if you can sell a book or two!
