Has there ever been an Inventory (or something similar on another site) about artist-specific style parodies in general? One of my favorite things is when a band consciously tailors a song to sound like another band - not only is it hilarious, it's also fascinating to see what signifiers they use.

Supreeeeeeeme

EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE

"Quite exciting, this computer magic."

Mike Watt's Ball-Hog or Tugboat? is pretty great, and features guest spots from roughly every single punk/underground/indie musician active from the 80s to the mid-90s.

Anyone else read "Danity Kane" as "Dainty Kanye"?

Saying we don't miss Genevieve is the hardest thing we'll ever have to lie.

Let's be honest, though. Look at the man's career and all the fuck-you moves he's made. Regardless of how anyone feels about the album, having Lulu for a swan song would be the most Lou Reed thing ever.

When you're on the transplant list, the first thing you learn is that you always gotta wait.

"I was mostly just applauding the fact that he…did Heroin."

I was about to say "…or ANY songs, nowadays," but @avclub-cfe912f5cb3aa572bd1c9ae2a9b82207:disqus basically beat me to it. XTC ends, he does Fuzzy Warbles and then…nothing? WHY

See, I am roughly the world's biggest Smiths/Moz fan, and I really don't hear their influence on any "modern music" at all.

Um, what world do you live in? Bluegrass is insanely popular. To the point where it's getting really fucking old, actually.

Okay, this is like the 50th comment I've seen calling Morrissey's hair a "pompadour." Can we dispense with this notion already? It's a QUIFF. Learn it, and learn to love hair perfection when you see it.

DATING PLAN

Wait, wait…

Never mind, I just realized I said the exact same thing ricin beans said

I can't believe there have been 167 comments and I'm the first person to bring this up:

Louder Than a Bomb?

Again?

Along with "Border: Up Ahead."
