I don't know why it's flying over so many people's heads that this is
clearly supposed to satirize the guys who think like this, the guys who
rail against "Fake Nerd Girls" and the like, rather than actually satirizing those same "Fake Nerd Girls" (if they even exist).

@avclub-1b1f9a3e639ecc53f335314fc9d8403b:disqus  It's sad that you even had to justify that. I love when people say stupid shit like "how convenient, she just happened to be 18." It's like people forget that human beings are 18 for a whole entire year of their lives, and things can happen in that year.

Remember the good timeb.

I just love the idea of describing a friend of yours who just died as being "dead as shit." I hope someone talks about me thusly at my funeral.

FUCK THIS STOP SIGN

"Hard rock don't get my cock hard. The Doobies do."

My favorite dialogue exchange probably ever, after Loggins sings "Keep the Fire":

Skiddly Biddly BOP

Buncha assholes.

What I've never understood is, why isn't it "Carl Jr.'s"? If Carl Jr. owns the place, shouldn't that be what it's called? It's possessive, it's not a plural like "attorneys general" or anything. Am I wrong?

I'm going to choose to believe you're talking about the one from XTC.

I like this post because it reminds me of Morrissey's "Do They Know It's Christmas" takedown (paraphrasing): "One can have great compassion for the people of Ethiopia, but it's another thing altogether to inflict daily torture on the people of England."

"Sent from my iPad" makes this comment 1,000,000 times funnier.

Next up, "Eyes Love Lucy" about a housewife whose husband suffers a disfiguring accident that reduces him to just a sentient pair of eyeballs! It's Fox-tastic!

If only there was a writer named Phil Paxton for him to be confused with.

Okay, well, that, sure. Like I said, I only know "Some Nights," "All the Pretty Girls" (the ELO one) and the lurching, tuneless "We Are Young," none of which sound anything like Queen to me. Maybe I'm just listening to the wrong songs.

What surprises me is that it's not more openly acknowledged. That song cribs from "Cecilia" at least as much as "Born This Way" stole from "Express Yourself." And also, Hyden, the Auto-Tune vocals on that song do NOT "nimbly avoid" being cheesy. They're the cheesiest fucking thing I've ever heard in my life, and not
