The context in which a piece of art was made is as much a part of the piece as the physical form itself. While some things transcend their particular slice of history, to look at something without context…and to judge something without context…is a great disservice.

Blazing Saddles is my favorite movie of all time. I can damn near recite the whole thing from memory. Both of those rape jokes are well constructed jokes. Had $7 left on an expiring gift card so I picked up a copy of Dragon Age: Origins. Didn't really suck me in. Just put me in the mood to play Skyrim.
