Simpsons quotes get a pass, especially here as without them the comments section would be decimated.

“Get out of this amazing country if you’re gonna hate on what the military does… Scumbag.”

Come on, we're better than that.

Pfffft. You just hate freedom, you freedom hater.

Yes, that one has worn out its welcome along with, "I see what you did there." and "Just sayin'"

I'm just hoping I don't outlive my weed guy.

I have found that is what I am really into at least right now. I've been trying to play other games but if I don't have the freedom to just roam and explore I get bored and check out.

Jokes on you, Archmage. I laugh at reruns of Hee-Haw now.

You know that's a good point. Instead of editing them, they should just be taken out of the kids range.

A disservice to the overall understanding, the public consciousness.

I have a small collection of history/geography/social study school books from the late 1800's and early 1900's. After reading through them It really isn't hard to understand why my grandfather was such a racist prick.

That is the trick, I suppose. I understand why they edited out all the blackface bits in the old Warner Brothers and Tom & Jerry cartoons when they re-air them in kids time slots. However, to permanently edit them and not make the originals available in any way, shape or form is to deny that era of our history. I am

The context in which a piece of art was made is as much a part of the piece as the physical form itself. While some things transcend their particular slice of history, to look at something without context…and to judge something without context…is a great disservice.

Don't forget prison rape, the "funniest" and most socially acceptable form of rape. I always enjoy the, "Well, if he didn't want to get raped he shouldn't have committed a crime" comments.

Blazing Saddles is my favorite movie of all time. I can damn near recite the whole thing from memory. Both of those rape jokes are well constructed jokes. I still laugh when I watch the movie because the delivery of each of them is brilliant. It is just as I've gotten older my perception of them has changed.

Horrifying?

Yes. Yes. But he was a blue-eyed, race car driving, salad dressing makin' heartbreaker and he could have been a playboy if we wanted to.

Genius. Millionaire. Playboy. Philanthropist.

Had $7 left on an expiring gift card so I picked up a copy of Dragon Age: Origins. Didn't really suck me in. Just put me in the mood to play Skyrim. So I went back to my game from earlier this summer. I've ignored the main quest in favor of wandering the countryside for a good old fashioned crime spree.

And every time I think of me jumping up and down and cheering for the Pats in that game I have to take a shower because it makes me feel so unclean. Now if you'll excuse me.
