I like Oswalt, but this does all sound rather self-important.

He can also be a bit of a pompous asshole.
I can't staaand the Stu character. Besides being part of the current weirdo beardy fat guy trend in sitcoms (which is utterly tiresome), Stu has weird rubbery lips. He has dog lips.
That line was perfect.
I thought that was kind of annoying.
I'd say it's popularity also relies on it being the first podcast that broke into the mainstream. It has a lot of "what is this newfangled podcast thing"-gleam for a large group of people.
I never am a fan of the We See What You Said There section, but I can't even make sense of the last quote: “The more I research this the more I’m like, oh God I hope I never do.”
I can't remember the name of the comedian, but someone on an old Doug Loves Movies episode said there was a lot of money to be made out of an app that would automatically skip the intro monologue of WTF for you.
When Bill Cosby Bukowski showed up on the last episode of TV Bang Bang, they sidestepped it by making it clear that the character is not Bill Cosby.
And then someone like BJ Novak gets cast and completely mangles the line.
That storyline was insane. To me it felt like Sorkin started that storyline, than halfway realised that it would make no sense against the developments in the buyout storyline, but couldn't be bothered to replace/fix it.
Equally, there are two types of AV Club readers in the world, readers who appreciate the AV Club's Newsroom reviews, and those who don't. Why keep reading them, if you don't like them? Etc.
Except that we hardly needed reminding, as Sorkin has reminded us of this in pretty much every episode of The Newsroom.
Jim is such a diiiiiiick..!
That's a ridiculously punchable face Wittels is pulling up there.
Sometimes it feels like we're all trapped in there with him.
I'm not sure that was a bad idea - she just isn't a very compelling performer to watch.
How would we know? Has she ever been given an actual character to play?
I stopped reading right after you dropped the bombshell you rewatched the first season.
And in season 2 of House of Cards.
