Maybe it won't be so simple. I mean, look at Boogie Nights. Porn is a subject that could be described as impossible to be balanced about. But PTA went and made a flick that presented the porn as just another job of work, while he was much more interested in the people working in it.

I've listened to it a couple of times. I was a fan of The Fall as well, and I think this new album is a logical continuation of that evolution in her music, as opposed to, say, just another Come Away With Me. Give it a spin.
I like Norah Jones and have never found her music to be boring. Soulful, relaxed, pretty, even sexy. But never boring.
This is a fun what-if.

As a fan of McCarthy, The Road, and the man's prose, I confess to setting down Blood Meridian in frustrated exhaustion after a hundred pages or so. Not to say that I disliked it - I just found it to be a considerably daunting read. His prose is so thick in that book, I felt like I was glazing over 5 important…

I suppose Kubrick knew that he was working with a great template in this surreal, jarring, sexual image, and saw fit to include it in that particular scene with absolutely no context, making it all the more jarring. It works.
Do those later seasons really get that bad?

I think of Scatman's death, and the unbearably meticulous lead up to it, as one of the meanest, funniest, darkest jokes ever played on an audience. It gets me every time.
