But, it is news, and The A.V. Club has been buying into/selling/promoting to the hype that this is a huge summer blockbuster we all must see. Them not posting anything is hard to fathom, because they do view themselves as a news source, even if it is to make sure it doesn't get hype and invite copycats.

Actually, it was probably when Peter and Mary Jane were split up following the Gathering of Five/Identity Crisis storylines which were equally bad, and just before Straczynski started his run in Amazing Spider-Man.

Spectacular Spider-Man was one of the better animated ventures of Spider-Man, just behind the 13 episode run on MTV of Spider-Man, that had NPH voice acting and was more adult in theme. It didn't fit with MTV at all, but was a great comic. I've yet to see Ultimate Spider-Man, and don't think I will anytime soon.
