I saw it as well and was surprised at how much I enjoyed it. The cast — naturally given its stature — was brilliant, though Maggie Smith's character was hugely problematic with her severe racism and abrupt turn around.
This film is good. You are all free to see it.
It was certainly a step down from last week. It felt a little off-pace, with a bunch of plots that didn't intersect and one not getting resolution until over the credits.
I was already looking forward to it going in; the whole Whedon aspect gave me confidence that it wasn't just going to be a cash-in and as a minimum I felt it could only be an ambitious failure.
