I don't think it was a case of Giles begrudging her the money—even without his Watcher's salary, I'm pretty sure he comes from old money—so much as it is him being disappointed that she's relying on him so much just as he's preparing to head off and leave her alone. He's actually correct, in a sense, that Buffy needs

I actually think season 7 is pretty underrated. I remember quite a few solid MOTW episodes from that season—isn't that the season that gave us the monster who was in therapy, and the crazy snakehandler who was actually a good guy, and Bryan Cranston?

So, Question about Millennium:
I watched a few episodes when it originally started, before giving up. I returned for the Darin Morgan episodes, but didn't see any other episodes in the second or third season.

My favorite "Secrets" segment ever was with David Bowie. "In 1976, I played a sold-out show in Cleveland. During the show, I shouted out, 'Hey, it's great to be here in Cleveland.'" (Dramatic zoom) "I LIED."

@Dr. Jewenstein: "The best thing about being known as the nicest guy in Hollywood? No one ever checks your backyard for dead bodies."

I can't believe it took this far down the thread for someone to make a Raising Arizona joke.

I still can't fathom people disliking Fred, even in her early, proto-River Tam crazy mode. Speaking of which, I'm not nuts for thinking that Fred and River are essentially the same character at first, right? Both are crazy, damaged, bug-eyed, rail-thin, extremely cute brunettes, and they both came into being within a

Count me as another person who thinks Doublemeat Palace is underrated. My big problem with S5-7 of Buffy is that, whereas the show was once grounded in the daily life of people attending school, towards the back end Buffy had very little to do when she wasn't fighting demons, which made it seem like she did nothing

The thing is, to me, Inglourious Basterds starts as a fairly period-appropriate-feeling movie, but it slowly slides further away from it in subtle ways as the movie goes on, so when Bowie starts up you're almost ready for it. But not quite.

And yet, Labyrinth the MOVIE is a great way to introduce kids to Bowie.

I've always been a little stumped by the fact that The Simpsons, which even then was definitely pushing the boundaries of good taste in cartoons, took such a strongly-anti-violent cartoons stance. I mean, hell—the mere fact that they keep getting laughs from those insanely violent I&S cartoons in this very episode

I think the Trio is both the writers and the audience. It's pretty ridiculous that people could get het up over them and call them a "middle finger to the audience" when pretty much every criticism the writers lob at nerd culture is absolutely bang on. Some nerds are, indeed, like that. It's not a sweeping

The crazy thing is, the resolution to this cliffhanger makes perfect sense and has been elegantly set up in part one. But I've said too much.

I actually think S4 is the best (though that's based on my dusty memories of this show). I remember the first five or six episodes of S4 being greatness piled on greatness, with the absolute best being "Brothers", the one where Data…well, I won't spoil it for Zack.

Stop being so sensitive, Zaque!

The good thing about finishing Angel after Buffy is that S7 of Buffy is extremely uneven (I don't hate it the way some do, but it's hardly a home run) whereas S5 of Angel is one of the best seasons of a Joss Whedon show ever, and sends the Buffyverse out on a high note.

What's funny is that I know a lot of Buffy fans who HATED Benz when she was on that show, and in the early going on Angel. She's clearly improved as an actress by now on Dexter (I'm halfway through S2) but she's playing a far less interesting, potentially annoying character.

I don't know how old Carpenter was when they were filming Angel, but I didn't really have a problem believing she was in her early 20s. Maybe I was just distracted by her fabulous body and million-watt smile. Ironic that, by this point, she would probably have been considered "old" by Hollywood standards, but was

I actually thought Angel S3 wasn't the greatest when it was airing, although Holtz was, of course, utterly awesome. Rewatching it later I decided it was better than I gave it credit for…but I still prefer S2 and S5.

And I'm really enjoying this so-called "iced cream".
