I'm OK with seeing where the Katrina character goes and I agree that she's a bit all over the map, but I do not want to see the writers turn their dynamic duo into a far less sensational trio. The Abbie-Ichabod pairing must remain the inviolate core of the series, kind of like the Winchester bros, imo.
I definitely flashbacked to Aliens when he was working his way through the root infestation lighting off those flares. What an amazing sci-fi reference in the midst of an eternal horror trope, the haunted house. It was cool to see Ichabod handily adapting contemporary devices alongside his more traditional Big Bad Ax…
Sorry for my late reply to your reply. Stupid new AVC design format not giving us our notifications….I do not like.
Thanks for the info on the "Haverford" moniker. That makes me feel better!
Your spelling made me guffaw loudly in a very unladylike manner. If I'd been swilling a beverage, it would've gone straight out my nose. Totally worth it.
I was scared to say it out loud. I'm going to have alcohol handy next week. Shit.
Technically, swimming dead.
See, it's funny because spelling is hard. I wish I could like that twice.
I was so excited to see him! I thought he got a great new gig and that we'd be seeing more of him. They must've flown him down to Georgia for one lousy weekend, then gave him cab fare. Somebody give this man a movie career!
In case anyone didn't see the clip on "Talking Dead" —- spoilers…
Governor says that the RV camp folks gotta move against the prison folks fast because the latter is soon going to realize "their people are gone." Wha-huh? What does that mean? Is there going to be another kidnapping. Comments above are right about the…
The loss of a heroic woman of color and the absence of TPH on my TV every week is gutting, but the writers are truly showing some stones in giving this character that story arc and following through. Damn you, narrative cohesion!
Reviewer did the same kind of write-up when he used to review Supernatural.
They had to change him to 16 because of those eyebrows.
You're right, zombiecat, I'd rather have no music than cheap crap that's been destroyed by previous media associations. I didn't mind watching Will Smith and Martin Lawrence sing "Bad Boys," because it was played as a joke - on several levels - while the music on Supernatural is there to link the brothers to their…
Wow, I never thought of that. Linking the Hunter life to domestic abuse would be really dark.
No, you are absolutely right, verte, it was Sam. I stand 100% corrected. It's nice to remember, now, that both Sam and Dean have that protective instinct toward the helpless and that it is much different than John Winchester's more workmanlike approach. I can't see John getting personally involved or being affected by…
At least when Dean gave the "stand up to the bully" advice to Ben it was accompanied by a practical lesson in just how and where and when to coldcock said bully. If I was Timmy, I'd have said, "Oh 'stand up to the two bigger kids who are really just cowards' is it?" Yeah, thanks a lot, I never thought of that. If I…
Thank you for bringing up Parks & Rec because I have always been baffled that an Indian-American character would have the surname "Haverford." Mindy's last name makes sense but were Tom's ancestors in the service of some British hoi polloi in the days of the Raj?
Yes, I love Abbie and Jenny and Joss and Olivia and Joan and Nikita! It's so fantastic to see non-white and non-male heroes on network television, especially when they're kicking all kinds of ass and they serve a powerful, central narrative purpose. They're not there to be the "exotic" female love interest that…
Only thing missing on the "driving away" was some classic rock. Stupid music clearance fees.
