You've hit the nail on the head, @avclub-2699a553580f039ce51cb742ed676ad2:disqus , I hope that, unlike ALL his other peccadillos, Don actually gets caught in the act, finally. I want him to have to deal with that first moment of shattering two other people (I hope Megan and the Doc walk in on some outright banging). I…
@avclub-c45140ecbba80b5ddbbbafa7ec713b46:disqus mentioned, amongst the 697 comments below, that the episode was rife with whores, and proceeded to lay out an impressive list of said whores. All to the good. But I kept thinking, throughout the show, that it was more about the johns.
@avclub-cee3162a27e516aea7fde212b5da1460:disqus : Last week, Peggy was surprised when Ted told her that her underlings wouldn't know to leave the office unless she first gave them permission to go. So, this week, Ted's saying, "Hey, no need to be so mean to the help," and this scene you mention was Peggy was a very…
But the pimp made the rooster comment just to Don, as they were walking up the stairs. He was marking his territory (and his dominance) to the other male. I think the stepmom knew what she was in for before she set foot in the house and and had already decided that she was willing to pay the price for the roof. Having…
And the funniest part - after Trudy's epic soulpunch - was how Kartheiser squeezed his eyes down into that petulant 'grrr' face and said she was gonna "sleep alone tonight." Oh Pete, you are a sad sad little man.
Excellent crappy pitch! Here's who's gonna drive your fancy British Jag-u-wah: "Truck drivers," "a guy in New Jersey,"…"a WOMAN"!
But at least they use the real women in the live ballgame montage over the credits (mixed in the with the actresses playing their older movie selves). I have to watch this part alone lest I blow my tough image.
I could've (and would've far rather had) watched the entire "Transformers" trilogy starring Julie White as Mrs. Witwicky and I feel the same way about her in "Go On." She brings a refreshing earthy sarcasm and emotional depth and utter coolness and perfectly performed non-hetero confidence where normally only dewey…
I thought the same thing but perhaps the network drew the penis-talk line there. They can joke about snapshotting the male member but cannot evoke any kind of racial difference. The brown penis has not fared well in American media but the white one is dandy [see: Harvey Keitel].
I think it's a combo of lemonade and beer (and their "lemonade" is a carbonated beverage, not like our lemon-water-sugar concoction).
I could never go back to Pixie Stix and Laffy Taffy but my adult consumption of what must surely be some frightening Diet Dr Pepper chemicals has replaced them. Our drugs-of-choice don't go away, they just jump brands.
Thanks for letting me know. I'm dying to hear Peggy Olson curse like a sailor - so I shall seek out the pure form of Mad Men!
Yes, from his injuries in the car crash with the possessed trucker, same hospital where they eventually lost their dad to Tessa the Reaper. I enjoyed Darla in the faith healer ep. (p.s. @avclub-2f2b7ca7553ba4230cad836ea1125578:disqus - just finished the diss!)
If I was Kartheiser, I'd be really nervous about them shaving back my hairline for fear that it would never grow back. I keep thinking of that guy Elaine was dating in Seinfeld who shaved his head but then was horrified that, when he tried to grow it in, he was actually going bald.
It is kind of awful to see Sally be so mean - partly because we have built up a few years of affection for her and partly because, despite the years of either negative or ambivalent build-up toward Betty, we might have some sympathy for the dead-end position in which she now finds herself.
Yes, I hope that this is because we're going to get a Joan-centric episode soon. Also missing: Pete's home life. Trudeeee!
@avclub-d71760750778a95386b703f5c9e474f0:disqus - yes, The Graduate thing was weird. I can't look at Heidi Klum anymore without thinking of her doing the help, or however Seal described it. She seems kinda gross now. She's no Anne Bancroft, that's for sure!
Or "Why did you just suck on a Certs?" [old-timey breath mint - I'm trying to evoke the correct period here] By the way, @avclub-e6d73cabfe2968cfa5b4718ca385241b:disqus , I am LITrally amazed by your girlfriend's olfactory powers and wonder how she could stand the detergent aisle at the grocery store!
@avclub-d43da0b54c8393e0d0cd389588f89e3a:disqus , yeah, silenced. I said bleeped because it was just a standard word for erasing the swears. I do remember, in the first episode of the entire series, that Pete said a kind of slurred "—-ck you" to Don where he skipped over the "F" and kind of the "u" too, but still got…
