I wouldn't mind the Trans being the low-key arc this season. This allows Garth to be involved once in a while, the stone tablets are a good narrative device, Kevin and his mom are well-acted and race/gender diverse to the usual recurring characters, and they help build a human network around the Winchesters who really

I think of Sam & Dean's childhood as a homosocial, tribal, non-domestic space where mothers, sisters, women in general, were absent and boyhood-to-manhood

I'm not bothered by it either but with all the hunters having the same basic m.o. (read the paper, look online, listen to police band) for finding weird cases, you'd think they would overlap more often. There doesn't seem to be any territorial division among them, just willy-nilly running around after events.

Surely a typo. Or we've entered a parallel universe.

I liked it when they looked like they were in a Test Pattern Hangar. And it was great seeing B.J. Hunnicutt back on the tube - the retro angle made the old-timey TV programming pretty appropos.

Yes! That little beat while Phil and Luke optically high-fived each other over that comment, off to the side of the frame, was masterful.

I enjoyed his "oldness" manifesting itself by him barking out the word "Twilight!" in the general vicinity of younger women. Any failed attempt to harness pop culture cred, when performed by Matthew Perry, works for me.

Agreed. Dad liked the poetry - in the way that a left-brain person instinctively recognizes that something emanating from a right-brain person is beautiful or profound without really understanding why. But the Grayson parents are always, at their core, about themselves, so he was compelled to guide Daniel back into

I wonder if Victoria ever gets introspective and wonders if she's repeating these tragic patterns and that, one day, her own children will kick her out into the cold with nowhere to go.

Yes, Victoria has always had that one hinky blink response. I would be distracted by it, but I'm usually staring at her (I assume) surgically-altered lip line. I'm not mocking - I think Madeleine Stowe is a beautiful woman and I still love her from The Last of the Mohicans and she is second only to EVC in her ability
