I do think Amelia will show up and, hopefully, be a real person - beyond these flashback/memories. I'm wondering though: if we've now see that Dean is an unreliable narrator of his own memories, will Sam's recall of events with Amelia be equally open to unforeseen angles? I don't know that I want a third person

I loved the Colt, particularly for its lineage back to the frontier days of horseback hunters but, like the magic dagger, it could've potentially become a constant hot potato between interested parties, constantly fighting over its possession, a bit of a MacGuffin effect - just a magic objet at the end of every chase.

I can't possibly vote enough times for this idea. I smell a spin-off.

I'm trying to picture that tiny woman dragging that demon's heavy ass outside and hoisting it into the trunk, but the end result of her showing him to the Winchesters like a trophy makes the dissonance go away.

I'm extremely partial to his breed of dysfunction because it knits together his capacity for violent action with his deep (and repressed) emotional core (fear of abandonment, too much adult responsibility when he was a boy, obsessive need for family, self-destructive triggers, etc.).

Cool comparison!

What's cool is that the show is foregrounding a powerful (and healthy) mother-son bond, rather than defaulting to father-son issues as it usually does. With Kevin and Kevin's Mom, you've got a pair of civilians thrust into the parallel world they never saw before and forcing them to adapt to it quickly - and both are

Adam would be a good villain, ramping up the series' core of brotherly angst/revenge/betrayal/guilt quotient up to an 11. It would also serve to bring Sam and Dean together as a united front and maybe get Sam to stop thinking about a normal life.

I loved how the water in the bathroom was on for about 2 minutes and then Cas emerges, bathed and laundered and shaved. If he could sell that ability, he could retire to heaven's version of the Turks and Caicos where he would watch TV all day long.

Love that Amanda Tapping is in this now, whether as an actual emissary of heaven or as an unrevealed villain. She's got a strong screen presence and, really, as a Canadian production, Supernatural had to get her eventually. Hoorah, a mature woman in the tradition of Ellen, Sheriff Jody, professor in California

This episode had a surprisingly rich scenario, with multiple events unfolding and significant interpersonal relationships having revealing moments. A couple of interesting things…
