@avclub-2f2b7ca7553ba4230cad836ea1125578:disqus That camera question you mention is great! The compulsion to record every minute, almost to a pathological degree, is to say that maybe nothing is real until we see it filmed, captured, verified by the mechanical eye (or whatever Bazin called it). Didn't the assholes

I'd watch that show.

Ironically, the scariest wolf-type entities are the Hellhounds of Supernatural which are the cheapest visual effects EVER!

Shit, I just commented to your comment above before reading downthread. Great minds were on the same track!

Yes, especially since one of the early arcs of the series revolved around Sam's demon blood which, as with the three leads in "Bitten," as something someone did to him, not something he chose.

Also cool was the direct quoting of Master NPH from Harold and Kumar Go to White Castle: "It was a dick move on my part." Squee!

But it was kind of sweet that he put the iPod back in the dock before he left, though. Gave the kids their music back (even though he hates it and the technology it rode in on).
(Fixed my stupid italics - what is wrong with me??? I've lost my HTML mojo or something.)

@avclub-24f6f7a488efc0455e1cb95aea962bed:disqus Good point about the kids. I think that now, in a media world bombarded with Marvel & DC and our cultural moment in which exceptional white people save the world on a regular basis, the kids might immediately think of themselves as superheroes. Or as sparkly, benign,

Agreed, @avclub-15d496c747570c7e50bdcd422bee5576:disqus . Purely from a technical standpoint, this episode was beautifully planned, shot, and edited. @avclub-2f2b7ca7553ba4230cad836ea1125578:disqus points out, too, the claustrophia of the episode taking place mostly in a single setting, which is incredibly difficult

Don't know how I managed all those italics. It was an accident!

Disagree on this review. Shocker. Whatever the narrative gimmick, the trio at the center (although much was telegraphed about their interpersonal tangles) was acted with surprisingly effective emotional beats, not unlike some of the philosophical conundrums in the Buffy/Angel-verse.
