Precisely.  I also think it's important to separate influence from the actual quality when viewing art; Gandolfini's performance as Tony Soprano was great on its own merits, not because it influenced a change in the TV landscape.

Bros.  BROS.

You know you've done well in life if your death results in lots of post hoc fallacies in your obituaries.

While I did enjoy "Colony Collapse", GOB's "Sh-sh-sh" breakdown was a quick summary of all the problematic things of the new season: a cheap callback to a previous joke, went on way too long, and included redundant Ron Howard narration just for the hell of it.

Huh, the field for that is really less strong than I thought it was.

This happens with literally every arena that has bad public transit access/relies too much on parking.

Heathers?

I'm not a tumblrite, but I haven't seen anyone "outraged" about his word selection, more just frustrated at his lack of tact in general.  Though I bet there is large portion of people typing furious blog responses to it.

How many showrunners have had public(ized) spats with, for example, their stars like Harmon has?  I don't think people judge against themselves as much as they judge against other people in a similar position.  When people look around and see most people in his position, they're mostly looking at people who've gotten

I can easily separate the art from what I don't like about the artist.Lots of TV creators are just assholes, but it's not like the TV shows they produce embody that kind of hostility or are unpleasant to watch.

Everyone knows one of those people who creates drama in their own lives because they like being miserable about things.

Eh, I think the show has stretched plausibility.  There's dead weight, plot-wise and thematically, within the show.  Things have gotten so big they're no longer really tethered to reality.  The characters and actions have just sort of gotten broader.

- I don't buy your Lena/Camille theorizing.  It briefly occurred to me in the first episode, but it just seems too silly to end up being true.  And I figured Lena was more talking about the occasional person who pretends to be a (thought lost) relative, which does happen every now and then.  Or maybe she just watched M

And people wonder why he was fired in the first place…

what

As much as I'm looking forward to the final half season of Breaking Bad, I think the show has gone on too long.  I think four seasons would've been ideal.

Tywin's waaaaay more humane than Hannibal.  Hannibal just kills people to act out his god fantasies.

I think Hannibal really came together in its second half.  I was so-so on the first five or so episodes, but the stretch run has been really interesting.

How far are you into the series?  I think Katrine gets some excellent shading as things go on.

I think Justified is the gold standard for this.
