I think it was sort of the opposite of fantastic.

I'd love for him to be appropriated as the lead of a different, perhaps Le Carré-style, spy show.  It would allow the producers to focus the full run-time on Carrie/Brody shipping.

One of the reasons Homeland was so thrilling to watch for its first season and a half was that there were a dozen different ways it could become terrible in an instant.  It created a strange sort of tension that was completely unique.

He's essentially Burt Macklin, if he got assigned to the CIA.

As strange as these Blaine McCracken ads are, they have nothing on the week where I only got ads for a book of collected anecdotes from organists.  Like, those dudes who play church organs.

I just read an excerpt which claims that Blaine McCracken(balls) killed Bin Laden.  According to the novel he and a friend went in ahead of the SEAL team and wiped everyone out.

I saw one person who complained bitterly that Return of the King didn't follow the structure of the book (that is, all the Aragorn/Gandalf/other hobbits stuff up to the Black Gate first, then all the Frodo/Sam stuff afterwards).  Which is just baffling.

So I looked at the comments of a Lord of the Rings related article on Reddit, and discovered the joyous world of nerd film-criticism.

The Stand would've worked so much better as a three or four season series.  The book all of a sudden jumps to the (incredibly disappointing) end 3/4 of the way through.

The Fresh Meat finale was 30 minutes of good stuff capped off by a really disappointing finish.

If you need your political drama fix, Borgen is decent.

Ugh.  I really dislike Josie.

I think it's just not a particularly well constructed show.  The characterization seems spotty and scattershot to me.  It also contributes to the feeling that the show relies too heavily on contrivance for its propulsion.  It exists in this murky ground of the dramedy, which I don't necessarily have a problem with.

Saw Skyfall.  Kind of love that MI6 has just basically become ISIS.
