I don't know if it was right since I can't think of the other films those years, but the only films I see from the past two decades that I might agree with are Gladiator (yes) and No Country For Old Men.

I will always defend Forrest Gump even though it grows more universally hated by the minute. I really don't get the hate for it at all, beyond "Pulp Fiction should have won!". I've also heard conspiracy theories about how it's conservative propaganda.
Good point, though this year actually, assuming they had ten nominees, I bet everyone but maybe Judi Dench would still get on the list.
Then Tom Hanks would be added, and Redford might edge out Meryl Streep. Still though, that's 60-70% men.
Turtle, Drama, and Liam Neeson. The first two, I've never had much use for.
I'm not sure what you're trying to say here, but I actually do think that it would be interesting if there was just one award for actors and actresses. It doesn't really make sense to divide awards for art into genders like it does for sports.
Yes.
I was hoping that this would take an Exterminating Angel type turn.
Really liking Watch This lately. Highlight more foreign or obscure films!
"Dog piss".
…
The Hangover at least had a strong reaction to it. People loved that movie when it came out. We're the Millers made a lot of money but I don't think many people were really 'passionate' about it.
I saw it. It went against my experience that these types of raunchy comedies were either really funny or really terrible. This film taught me they can also just exist.
Or maybe you should get laid?
Just kidding. I watch this show sometimes too and like it alright.
I think I only downvoted something like twice, but I kind of liked seeing how many people disapporved of certain comments.
So what happened to downvoting? I was just starting to like it…
I'm a huge fan of all classic cartoons, but especially Looney Tunes, and especially Chuck Jones. But I still contend Space Jam wasn't that bad. Just don't look at it the same as you look at the classics. Same goes with the Rocky and Bullwinkle movie.
Dennis Hopper? DISH Hopper motherfucker!
Yet it still gets responses. Kind of a broad generalization here.
I think this may be too much analyzation for this game. But it is pretty enjoyable.
I saw it a year or two ago, far after the height of it's popularity, and was pleasantly surprised by it. So, I'd say yes, if you just want a light, fairly funny film one night.
I think the audience surrogate is a good idea, but usually taken too far. Like it works well to have a charcter just entering an environment they are unfamiliar with, but making them stereotypically rich and stereotypically white is maybe a step to far.
