I was reading what I took to be a lightweight "biography" of Mary Queen of Scots, written by some romance novelist.  Not much of a book in any legitimate sense, but well illustrated with photos of relics, places and so on.  Then I hit what I guess was supposed to be a serious discussion of whether or not Mary was a
