I wasn't aware of 'The Blob' remake being considered an "example of how to successfully update a property"… I mean, I remember liking it, but I thought it bombed and was generally considered to be a failure.

She's fast enough, for YOU, old MAN…

The review doesn't match the C+ grade.

"And I get to work with the Velvet Underground, which is just as shitty a group as Frank Zappa's group"

That's right The Mascarra Snake

Wheelin' and dealin' and oooooooooh…

It's heartening to hear 'Version 2.0' comparisons, but I was looking for words like "catchy" or "hooks" or "infectious" in the review, so I'm more cautiously optimistic than stoked. All of Garbage's albums sound great, but I miss the memorable choruses the first 2 albums had in abundance.

Metacritic's average for 'Push the Sky Away' is 81-out-of-100… "guardedly positive reviews"

"Love Is Like Jazz" is almost excruciating on the album, but live it's a hoot, because it's different every time… "You make it up as you go along"

Most underrated? I'll go with the time signature challenging Stereolab rip/homage "Strange Eyes".

That's awesome, Cookie! Also one (actually two) of my all time favorite concerts.

I always hoped Erasure would eventually cover it. There's still time…

I don't care what you foxhounds do, but your leash is too long.

All hail the Three Terrors! Missed that one, but was at the 2 previous ("…Sing the Saddest Songs Ever" and "…Go to the Movies"). Having heard Mr. Merritt sing a verse of "Rainbow Connection" is a fine musical notch to have under one's belt.

Lived and breathed this album when it came out. Very personal album for me as well. Still one of my all time favorites. Blows my mind that with all of its praise and notoriety it seems like there are so many people who don't know about it. Also, I'm relieved that this is his next project; it seemed briefly that he

What, no Lemmy?

Wearing a shirt of violent green I presume?

Matter of Degrees, while by no means a classic, has stayed with me after 25 years. The soundtrack is a wonderful snapshot of "college rock" in the pre-Nirvana days.

God knows when I'll have another opportunity to post about TCS, so I'll beg everyone's indulgence… I have done acoustic covers at various bars and coffeehouses over the years of "Obscurity Knocks", "Drunken Chorus" and "Hayfever"… If I turned even one person on to Trashcan Sinatras, I would be extremely happy. P.S.

I don't love all of their albums/songs (A Happy Pocket left me cold) but they have a handful of songs that just click for me (no other way to describe it), and those songs just completely blow me away.
