Some of the early skits with kids interacting with the muppets were adorable beyond words… My daughter is 2… She LOVES when I play the YouTube clip of Kermit singing the alphabet song with the little girl who keeps interjecting "Cookie Monster" and laughing hysterically… The ending is heart-melting.

I'll NEVER get it! NEVER!!! *smash*

The "gay" scene was almost the solitary redemption? All I know is that I laughed out loud at least a dozen times throughout the show. It wasn't high brow comedy, but it worked. Definitely "A" range for me.

I know that was a joke… Funny thing is the deluxe version of the new collection actually has some "new oldies" i.e. songs that haven't been really been widely available in years… B-side of their first single, a weird non-album novelty British single about dog racing, and a cover of the Stones' "Under My Thumb"… Not

I remember the disconnect of being immersed in Sesame Street and loving it, and then going to school where let's face it even at an early age some kids are assholes, and just realizing that, wow, the real world is NOTHING like the warm fuzzy wonderfulness of sesame street

Serial Grapist!

Rose Melberg from indie twee-pop duo The Softies did a lovely, lovely cover… I keep trying to get through it solo acoustic, but I keep having to pause 'cause for some reason I keep tearing up. Damnedest thing.

Re: the repetition of catchphrases… Kids who watched the show (and bought the albums, board games and lunchboxes) were mostly tuning in for the catchphrases, and to watch a bunch of "cool" "kids" exasperate authority figures… The writers knew their audience.

Remember seeing her in Playboy… It didn't occur to 11-year-old me that she was an unemployed (or underemployed) actress who needed the money… I was more like, "Boobies!"

Your garbage is his smorgas-orgasbord

Weird pacing… Felt like a lot of stuff was left on the cutting room floor… As I watched I wondered if this was 2 eps edited into 1…

Bargain?

HBO played the crap out of that movie when I was a kid. Thinking back it was probably pretty awful, but 8-or-9-year-old me really dug it… Annoyed the hell out of my parents imitating that "evil honking horn" sound. Misremembered the hero as having been played by Sam Elliot.

Saw it as a kid, and aside from the theme music I don't remember One. Damned. Thing about it.

That chair will never have that recipe agaaaaaiiiin!

He was rich enough to up his bid on the house by 50 grand…

And hey, wasn't "Hold Me" a bigger hit than "Gypsy"? I remember MTV playing the shit out of that video with the cool Magritte imagery in the desert… And it's easily one of my favorite Fleetwood Mac songs to this day.

Even if you turn off your safe search ?

That would have been too "on the nose"

I know, right?! But this one's got some weird-ass choices on it… "Zoot Suit" and "Dogs" anyone?
