I like the one where I see an actor who was semi-to-somewhat famous 10 years ago. Looking at you, Rider Strong.

Is that seriously the press image for The X Factor? Why are they trying to pretend like any of these people were in the same room when the photos were taken? Did they actually photograph Simon Cowell for this, or just his Madame Toussaud's wax figure?

I dunno, the pilot was pretty heavy handed on the "old lady says outrageous stuff" bit, but it was also kind of sweet, and Bartha and Rannels have good chemistry.

So, to recap why these designers are horrible human beings: last week, "I can't design for fat people," this week, "I can't design for poor people."

EXACTLY. This show is deeply flawed, but as long as Sam Waterston continues to curse, I will continue to watch this show.

Gunnar got the "you listened to your client, gave her exactly what she wanted without designing something hideous" spot.

Honestly, @bromidestain:disqus I'm not thinking of someone right now, but I know it's happened in the past. It's just a bummer when you find out that people whose work you admire are kind of tools. I'm glad it didn't happen in this episode, though!

One of my biggest pet peeves is when someone says "you just didn't get it." Nope, I'm pretty sure I got it crystal clear, I just didn't like it. Big difference.
Now for a cool story bro moment, a kid who I went to college with was a "rapper" and played one of his songs in our music class, and the lyrics were "Big…

The bar was set so high, and they absolutely delivered.
ETA: One of the things that sucks about listening to so many celebrity (A-D list) driven podcasts is that you can end up finding out that someone is a real dick, and I'm so glad that wasn't the case with Paul Rudd.

As soon as I opened AV Club, and saw the interview/story about the movie, I was afraid it would get the kiss of death rating. I've been a fan of Mike's work for a long time, and I enjoy This American Life (most of the time), so I was really hoping the grade wouldn't sway me from seeing this film. Now to find a theater…
