I think you might be confusing perspective with aesthetic.

I guess in Werewolf it's very important to be focusing on what other people are doing and saying so maybe the cards are a distraction from that?
It took months for me to actually screw up the courage to go along to a gaming group on my own. It was very much worth it.
Like @CNightwing:disqus said: not really intended to be derogatory. Just meant that it's very heavy on theme and the mechanics are fairly simple.
If you like Dixit you should try Mysterium if you get the chance. It also uses beautiful and abstract cards and has a similar mechanic of trying to figure out others' obscure hints but it's a little bit more complex.
There are quite a few great simple card games out there. I played a couple of good bluffing games recently: Skulls and Cockroach Poker. At the moment I prefer the former because there's some scope for playing cautiously, aggressively or somewhere in between whereas the latter doesn't seem to allow for different play…
Talking of superhero themed deck building games I've heard good things about Sentinels of the Multiverse but I haven't been able to try it out yet.
It's not really a war game. It's more like a, I dunno, dice game with some minor role differentiation? It's very Ameritrash-y, whatever it is.
I've been playing boardgames weekly with a group for a couple of months now and it has done wonders for my mental health and sociability.
Personally I don't particularly like X-COM. The timer makes it feel excitedly frantic and its dice mechanic is clever (the more you roll the more dangerous your rolls become) but it often feels like your input into the game is pretty minimal. I've played it a few times with others and I always feel that the game is…
Babies taste best!
Except that the writer says a lot of stuff along the lines of "at least that's what he thinks" and "we'll see how that works out" so I wouldn't be surprised if he has a similar take in mind.
Édgar Ramírezis no bland hunk. Do yourself a favour and check out Carlos.
You are entirely correct in your rebuttal of my specific points (although there are better arguments that have been made by others) but you are also about five years too late. Nevertheless, consider my twenty year old self to be properly chastened and my twenty-five year old self to be properly embarrassed to be…
Also he was set on not taking a stand against Hitler until Hitler reneged on the non-aggression pact.
I've been enjoying Tricot. They're often described as math rock and they do employ heavy syncopation and time signatures other than 4/4 but they also make more use of strong melodies than the term math rock usually implies.
The legacy was solely the result of Thaos and The Leaden Key activating Engwithan machines to siphon off souls and had nothing to with Eothas' death. It's not explicitly stated in the game but most players suspect that Eothas' incarnated in St Waidwen because he got wind of what Woedica and Thaos were planning and…
I don't think Magran was really allied with Woedica. She just helped Woedica out when it also served her interests - ie they both had reasons for wanting to get rid of Eothas. She still doesn't want Woedica to become more powerful and reclaim a position of rulership.
Turns out I'm wrong. The official word is that you should put accents on capitals but most ordinary people haven't done so since type writers came into existence. I guess you could say that it's pretentious, or at least overly pedantic.
For French names it's not pretentious - it's just basic punctuation.
