As soon as this article loaded I ctrl-f'd Defiance to see if someone else had nominated Nolan. I think the show would be vastly improved by having Stahma as the main character. We'd get constant scheming, lots of angst about her role in her culture and family and endless struggles to understand humans. But I guess it…
Because in the actual show he always introduced himself as"the doctor" not "doctor who".
Awesome Votan spaceship tech. ;)
My main worry is that Irisa-as-doomsday-weapon immediately clears out the E-Rep occupation. Although I suppose that might just cause the E-Rep to deploy their full might and hey, maybe the Votanis Collective would get in on it too.
I don't think Datak's hungry for power so much as for status and respect. Being a member of the spat upon lower class really didn't sit well with him and being a gangster made him powerful but hardly respectable.
Seems likely to be the same deal as whatever was going on with the brothers. I'm guessing it's the keys'/ship's AI.
I look forward to all your forthcoming slash fic.
We don't know what Castithans have down there which leaves it pretty wide open, unless anyone has any penetrating insights.
That Deadline report appears to have been erroneous. Grant Bowler says so here: http://www.prweb.com/releas… and Taylor himself appears to correct it here (in June, a couple of months after the story ran): http://www.assignmentx.com/…
Yes, I meant the presence of it in town rather than its existence. Whoops.
@disqus_okgItcD0yy:disqus I'm kind of surprised Datak wasn't more aware of that earlier given that he donates to the Votanis Collective and has had no illusions about his standing with much of the human population.

Remember: A vote for Datak is a vote for the E-Rep. *Hands out a how-to-vote guide for Mayor Nicki*
I think the doctor only realised something was up with Irisa when she was brought in right after the artifact was first bombarded with science rays. Also her reaction to what happened when she was able to make an incision suggests she had no idea that Irisa had a sister artifact implanted in her.
Still weird.
Well, it'd be Disney but yes.
Agree with most of this but I think that Sukar is a sure bet to return. If they wanted him to be dead it would have been a simple matter to have Yewll pronounce him brain dead in the episode where he fell from the arch. Also last episode they made a point of having Irisa check on his status.
Re: 3) The thing that bothers me about Doc Yewll is that the actor's prosthetics don't allow much in the way of facial expressions. They got around that in the early episodes by making deadpan snark her default mode of communication but it makes it harder to buy into her recent flashes of guilt, anxiety, etc.
Definitely (B). She got a big kick out of Christy not wearing the Telo (which makes it kind of ironic that she engineered that by replacing it with a veil) and she seems to be genuinely enjoying her liason with Kenya (which could be solely down to her liking Kenya but the show seems to be suggesting that it's also a…
I think the show did have a very clear perspective: Locking up the Iraths was a panicky, overreaching move brought on by fear and distrust. Note that the show's "good guys" were both against it and that those for it didn't simply advocate for it as a quarantine measure but also used racist language to support their…
