Also I think a romantic comedy has to be funny over its whole running length and pretty much all the funny stuff is in the first third (the "the the" conversation, rolling under the window, the awkward "meet the family", chick bomb et cet). After they start falling in love there's nary a joke in sight.
As gorgeous as those some of those opening theatre shots were I really can't see the appeal of a lot of elaborately made up pretty people singing about putting zest in life by way of some crappy orientalist metaphor.
